Okay. Maybe I have to go back and watch the episode again...I didn't really notice them and I watched after the original posts were made pointing them out.

My thoughts:
I definitely got an "Incredibles" vibe from the show.
Why was Carol monitoring Hal's flight in her office by herself? Surely there's a better way to do that.
I'd love to see Larfleeze.
I got really irritated at the characters for not going back and getting reinforcements.
So if thy stay in the "frontier" for a while I wonder if there's any chance to see other GL villians. I'd hate to see just Green Lanterns v. Red Lanterns every week.

Because creating CGI character models is expensive. That's one of the fundamental limitations of 3D computer animation as a technique -- it takes more time and money to create characters, even background characters, than in 2D animation. And since so little of the show is set on Earth, they didn't have much use for human character models other than Hal and Carol.
They were about to, but then Hal decided it was important to go after the probe before they lost it, and then the ship was damaged so they couldn't go back.
Jedi and Sith have faction colors?
The Sith have red lightsabers [General Grievous's trophy sabers notwithstanding, though he's not technically a Sith either AFAIK]. The Jedi don't.
Green lightsabers = Jedi; red = Sith. Mounds; Almond Joy.

I think it's a reach to call those "faction colors." And I'm pretty sure I've seen a fair number of blue lightsabers and the occasional purple one.
Anyway it's been standard for ages to associate red with violence and evil, because of blood and fire and stuff. Whereas green and blue have more positive connotations -- grass, trees, water, clear skies, nice wholesome life-affirming stuff. So it's not like Star Wars has any particular claim on the custom.

No, it's not intrinsic to Star Wars of course.
Can you cite a source for that? Obi-Wan always had a blue saber, regardless of rank, IIRC.
^And if you go into the expanded universe, or at least the video game Jedi Academy, there's a whole rainbow of colors for lightsabers.

From what I heard in one of the Star Wars threads originally there were only going to be blue and red lightsabers. So they were going to have faction colors.
Now on to this red vs green thing.
It will only work if the introduce and idiot green lantern and have Carol get her powers, become slightly homicidal, and beat the crap out both lanter groups when ever she feels like it. Oh and they need to move the show to a canyon.
I'd like to see Star Sapphires, Sinestro Corps, the whole spectrum of corps. They have our attention and they may as well go for it with something involving. I too am wary of the set up for a quest out on the frontier. Maybe if they generate an audience they can expand production beyond this obviously scaled down premise.
