Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

With this ring and these awesome tights
I'll be looking for a fight
And to those who worship Reynolds might
Beware my power, I know right

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

I think the problem is that it doesn't look like it's there physically(which it isn't)

The more I look at it, it looks like someone sprayed green paint across Reynolds face.

Who is it behind that green mask?! He looks so familiar! But not too familiar! Is it... No. It couldn't be.... I've NO IDEA WHO THAT IS!

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

It's gonna be in 3D. Don't know how many times I have to repeat myself about this. It looks spray painted on most likely because it will be part of the 3D costume, which is why the costume design looks like the way it does.

I think you're confusing the idea of Avatar's 3d rendering with it's 3d "stereoscopic" imaging. The two aren't related.

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

Wow, that still shot looks really, really bad  Why can't they just put a physical mask on him???

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

It does look pretty bad I'll admit that, you'd have to be stupid not to see who he is, but again I believe even the mask will be rendered in 3D.

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

Well what are you talking about here;

Yeah I was wondering if people didn't read at first because I shortened Entertainment Tonight to E.T.? Remember that this is all supposed to be in true 3D like Avatar was, including the mask if I'm not mistaken which is still why it looks painted on.

?

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

Yeah, the whole "the suit will be in 3D" thing isn't making sense to me, either. If the film's going to be in 3D, everyone's clothes will be in 3D.

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

This was posted months ago in the first Green Lantern costume thread. I'm not sure what the confusion is regarding the 3D concept of the suit. The article I posted above clearly explains it. Ryan was filmed wearing the motion capture balls and the suit it's self will be 3D.

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

Yes, and the 3D suit is what we're seeing in those clips and it's what everyone is expressing opinions about. So?

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

Wait? When we say it's "in 3D" do we mean the CGI/effects were simply rendered/edited in in "3D" (that's to say each frame of film wasn't individually edited to add in the suit but that the suit was created "in 3D" so the computer could do this without needing to do something with each frame) or that when this movie comes out one will have to wear the 3D glasses just to see the damn suit properly?

If it's the former that's cool, but also sort-of how all effects should be done these days for ease. If the latter?

Lame.

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

The computer "needs to do something for each frame" when rendering in 3D.

In any event, the point of motion capture is to enable the animation of the suit to precisely track Reynolds' movements, frame by frame.

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

if anything the suit will look worse...IN 3D! :p

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

Yeah am not thrilled with the suit but I also wonder how a "suit made of light" that's only a few microns/photons thick should actually look?

Re: Green Lantern E.T. Spot!!!

I wonder if we'll have any Alan Scott shout-outs.

Also, is the dude who goes 'Wow!' Pieface?
