A couple of tips for driving (they work for me at least):
1) If you're driving in a straight line and wanna slow down quickly, slam the e-brake and the normal brake at the same time. Don't try to steer while doing this though (unless you really know what you're doing).
2) Slamming just the e-brake before a corner and then releasing it just as you steer, will usually (it takes some practice) turn the car perfectly for a 90 degree corner. this really depends on the car, the condition of the car, the weather...
3) The proper (but often slower way) is to always brake (with the regular brake) before taking a corner. Just like it's not a good idea to brake while cornering in real life, it's the same here. The motto here is slow in, fast out. Basically, brake enough so you can take the corner nicely and then accelerate when you touch the apex of the corner. With rear wheel drive cars this will cause it bit of a power slide which (if need be, often the car will stabilise itself) you can correct this with some opposite lock. Again, it's all about balance. You don't want to steer in the opposite direction too much because you'll just spin out.

All of these things are actually quite similar to how real cars drive (when you're pushing them). But most people won't really encounter these sorts of situations (driving on the limit and all that) in real life. ;)

How does the helicopter chase work? Is there a way to go faster? Once I'm in the air, the other chopper is gone like 10 seconds later.

And remember that Little Jacob's on the left, therefore you have to be on the right of the other helo in order for him to shoot at it. I kept flipping the two around and wondering why Jacob didn't take the shot. Also didn't help that I kept doing it at night, so once I was over water I was worried about crashing; the occasional fog bank didn't help, either.

Here's how I fly the chopper. I use R2 (the one that increases your altitude) and move the left analog stick forward (tilting the chopper forward). Now if you don't do this right it'll cause the chopper to dip down too much. But if you get it at about a 30 degree forward angle it'll just stay there moving at a pretty decent pace.

Anyway, I hope I described that well so you understood it. But yeah, I'll put it this way. Flying the way I just described it, I actually had to slow down not to overtake the chopper i was supposed to shoot down.

I had trouble with that helicopter getting away right in the beginning a couple times. If that's what you are referring to just hit the stick hard right at the start and point the helicopter just a little right of pointing at it if I remember right.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV F-22 Raptor Secret Unlock

Honestly, I want to know how this latest meme got started...

I've overheard one of the young guys in our support department singing that song, I guess this phenomenon had escaped me...

OK OK i have altered both my posts.....it was only meant as a light hearted post, nothing more...if people(not you personally but in general) clicked on the link and do not find it funny than there is not much i can do about it.

Its gone now so that's that.

Oh come on people.........its caught me and i found that hilarious........oh well.......i will remove it...

It's just been done to death. That's all. Not necessarily here, but in various places. It's like this, something might be funny the first 100 times, but after awhile . . . not so much.

I finally finished the main storyline. That last mission is, probably quite rightly, the hardest in the game.

Long road chase, then big gun battle, then a big rooftop gun battle, then a chase on a motorbike, then you have to hit a mark at speed, then you have to prevent your helicopter from getting blown up and finally you get to shoot Pegorino.

Funny, I didn't think it was that hard. I got it on the first try; it was pretty much played on rails the whole time.

I just beat the bank robbery level. That was a rush. Didn't think it would be so easy to evade cops on the getaway though. While I was trying to get to the pay 'n' spray, I evaded their radar.

How is Kiki supposed to help you evade three star and under police levels? I couldn't get her to do it during the getaway. Is it only during non-missions?

I'm still stuck on two missions but, granted, I've not played much for a week or so. The mission where I've got to follow a damn El-Train and the mission where I've got to chase down some guy's ex's boyfriend on a bike.

:rolleyes;

The bike chase is relatively easy, just keep following until a cutscene hits.
The train can get a bit touchy... at that point it's just about memorizing the route/trial and error.

My problem is that I can't easily follow him close enough for the mission to not abort. I can't drive the bikes worth shit so I get a car, but the car isn't always fast enough to "keep up" enough to not abort the mission. But I take from your post that I should be more worried about "keeping up" with him enough for the mission to not end than I am about catching up to him? That the mission is "scripted" to take me to a certian point for a final confrontation?
