^ I wonder if it's random with Michelle, the bar was a bust for me as well but I got lucky after the cabaret. Got lucky on the first date after bowling also.

I took her bowling the first time, took her to the cabaret the second time (didn't score), yet got some the third time when I took her to Vlad's bar and drunk drove her home

I absolutely love the drunken effect. It's brilliant and almost makes me sick just playing it, but that's part of what makes it great.

I went drinking with roman and drove him home, but hit tons of shit including several cops, meaning I had to then evade a two star police chase while totally wasted. It's normally easy to get out of a two star, but not when you're having to deal with the drunken effect. awesome. I think I mowed over 30+ people on the way home.
Same here, but I ended up getting busted. My biggest mistake was going to the bar that's farthest away from Roman's and the safehouse, so it was a disaster driving all the way back. I kind of cheated and loaded my saved game and did it all over again, except this time, we went to Vlad's bar and ended up just walking back to Roman's and the safehouse.

I went out drinking with Michelle and was literally falling over myself. I couldn't walk for shit, let alone DRIVE.

Strangely, I had Michelle on a motorcycle, or maybe a scooter, can't remember and had no problem with the drunk effect. Maybe it's worse for cars? Oh, and taking her to a strip club doesn't do anything, I figured she'd at least make a snide comment. I do think it's funny that she notices you not having the same car as before.

Thinking of passengers, I love hitting cars with Little Jacob in the car just to hear his incomprehensible mutterings. Plus, all the smoke rolling out the windows.

How is the Euphoria ragdoll system? I've been pretty excited about it since seeing a tech demo and is one of the major reasons why I might buy this game.

The what now? Can't say I'm impressed with it eitherway, but it's not something I care all that much about anyway.

It's pretty fun...
Once drove head-on at a policecar, the cop sitting shotgun flew through the windshield on to the tarmac...

But...
My game hung twice yesterday...
1st time when starting the game up it didn't get past the black loading screen so i removed all gtaiv files and started over...
Later while driving in the game everything froze...
I did remove some game files from games i haven't played in a long time and disabled the PS3's network connection, and it seem to work...

Here's a video I found on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SalN1PiwHZU&feature=related

It is supposed to be a combination ragdoll/AI engine. When the a guy is knocked off a structure, the engine is supposed to tell him to grab the ledge to keep from falling down. It should also be responsible for guys hanging on to the cars you steal.

The Euphoria physics engine is fantastic, IMO

And yes, people do hang on when they can (if their AI is aggressive, most people are just scared and run away).

I jacked a flatbed and the owner held on to the back of the truck and I dragged him a fair ways before fish tailing and sending him flying through the air.

^^ The other day, the owner of a vehicle I jacked re-jacked my ride and drove off with *me* hanging from the car. The bastard.

I'm not sure how much of the AI the Euphoria engine is responsible for, but it's led to some funny situations for me.

I tried to carjack someone and a female bystander came to the rescue. I had just gotten out of a gunfight so my health bar was a tiny sliver. I tried running away but the woman kept following me. Finally I gave up and decided to blow her away, hoping she wouldn't land the first blow (which would probably have killed me). Well she tried...only she missed and a cop was nearby and came up and started abusing her, presumably for trying to beat me up. I walked away scot-free.

 That's awesome.

Have any of you managed to walk/drive into the neighboring borough?

In one case I managed to drive an SUV up into an El-Train station and then drove the SUV on the tracks into the neighboring island. (Which gives you 6-stars) for some reason the police/FIB won't swarm the subway stations so I survirved down there, after capping a couple of cops, and got surface-side where all hell was breaking loose, jacked a car, and managed to drive around a bit before getting killed by the FIB.

Later I found myself on a pedestrian walk on the [Brooklyn] Bridge and into some-kind-of station on the otherside where the cops managed to cap me.

Well, I've only been playing for two days, and I'm doing amazingly poorly. My first attempt, I accidentally ran down the loan sharks who came looking for the cousin at the underground card game. That and I'm not very good at hand-to-hand fighting, so I'm generally getting my ass handed to me. But it's all fun. The only problem is the cousin seems to call whenever I get near the apartment to save the game.

^ Don't worry about that. If you don't want to go on one of those, but you don't want to lose favor with your friends for blowing them off, just agree to the plans and then call them back a moment later and cancel.

Alternatively you can just not answer the phone. (I think not answering it/returning voice mails effects your rep one way or the other.)

Yeah. Canceling earns you more 'espect that turning them down or (worse) standing them up. I'm tired of Michelle and her loose twat. I take her out, we eat feaking Cluckin' Bell, I take her home -killing a few people and smashing up the car and maybe getting chased by the cops along the way- and she gives It up to me. I'm bored with her.

I tried not answering a few times, but every time it seemed to damage my standing with them. At least it did with Roman, anyway.

Ah. Well, I'd say if he calls on your way to save then go ahead and save it and then call him/answer the voice mail right away.

But, you can call and cancel plans without harming your rep.

Just my personal thoughts on it so far. The game is good. Just like all other GTAs everything is sort of the same. What I don't understand is the hype around it. 10.0 in gamespot?? Come one Zelda: Orcania of Time was much better than what I've been playing so far.

The annoying driving my the little dinky compass is still there for me. And I find the cell phone text messages tough to read on my ghetto ass TV. Don't get me wrong the game is good but not as good as CoD 4.

Yeah, I wish that they would be a little bit bigger, but I'm fine with the text size as it is. Could be worse though...you could be playing Dead Rising.
