Spoilers Gotham - Season 4

Some interesting stuff this week.
I wonder where exactly they are going with Harvey now.
Lee as the leader of the Narrows should be very interesting.
I have to wonder if they suspect the show is getting close to the end of it's run. We have Bruce as pre-Batman vigilante, and now Gordon is just a few steps away from being the Commishoner. Most of the character either are where they are in other versions, or are getting very close.

It certainly feels as if they are wrapping things up. I would sad to see it go as I only found it about a year ago and it is fun being in a fandom where one can watch live each week and discuss, as opposite to binge watching years later.

Actually, I dreamt tonight that it was cancelled. So far, only a dream I should hope.

Aren't they on the bubble every season? It would be very sad to see it go, at least I hope they can wrap it up properly. (But not yet!)

Yeah, that was a surprise. I wonder if that means that the Grundy thing will be temporary?

Harvey's fall... maaan, that stinks. But also shows what a great job Donal Logue does in portraying him. I completely buy into his journey.

Lee, on the other hand.... it feels like the showrunners/writers have no idea what to do with the women on the show.

I wonder if Grundy will kill Tabitha? She's already kinda sorta a pre-Catwoman .. will we get one more hint of that before Selina goes full Catwoman?

That final fight between Gordon and Pyg at the dining table was surprisingly cool.

Man, it's like Enterprise Season 4 or something... albeit with a weak start. No Oscars will be handed out, but the stories are pretty taut and stylistic. Gotham's always had its own look, but it has ramped things up for what might be the final season...

Oh yeah, definitely.
This was a good end to the Pyg storyline, I know he had nothing really to do with the comics version, but Pyg was still a great villain.
I still haven't been able to figure out for sure exactly where Sofia's loyalties really lie. I've been wondering if it's going to end up turning out that she's been playing both Gordon and Penguin is plotting to take over Gotham's underworld herself.
Alfred chasing off Bruce's friends was a great moment.

Well, if DC is now doing random unconnected movies, it seems like Pyg would be perfect for a horror film. The actor was amazing, and a great master of disguise.

JD, I think they have made it seem pretty clear she has her own personal agenda, and certainly not for the greater good.

At first , I thought Bruce's parting seemed to come out of nowhere. David's acting made it more realistic... I personally would have preferred that his party boy persona be a totally made up one (perhaps with advice from both Alfred & Selina)... but we shall see.

Is Marteen an original character, or based on someone in the comics? Curious who he might grow up to be...

How a show can glue your eyes to the screen while making them roll furiously on several occasions is beyond me, but there you have it. Suspend your disbelief with a rope from a bridge, but enjoy the view of the city lights.

Crazy, pothole-filled twists and turns, but ultimately highly entertaining. If it's the last season, Gotham is going out with a bang, target be damned!

I agree that there are a lot of plotlines that really don't sit well.

Could you really imagine a situation where the cops and mayor would allow a license to commit crime?

Violent crime?

Do you think a citizenship would put up with that in a major city? 100 percent?

That only one cop would say, "um, no?"

The federal government would step in before anything like that could happen.

I really thought Penguin killed the kid at first. Good misdirect there. I totally bought it.

Jim needs to have more tact dealing with Sophia. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer....

Definitely agree...

I wonder if they are setting up for the inevitable Batman reboot in 15-20 years...just about everyone would be great to return for a Batman mega movie

I think it works because it goes all in and has embraced itself for what it is. On Gotham, crime licenses share the same space with lunatic asylums with crazies in horizontal stripes killing each other.

Holy shit, I did not see the Pyg twist coming at all. It didn't even occur to me that the whole Pyg thing was related to Sophia. As soon as Penguin told Zsasz that he didn't kill Carmine, I knew it was Sophia. Zsasz lying about Matin's fate was another big shocker.
I'm curious to see exactly where they are going with Bruce, I'm assuming something is going to eventually knock some sense back into him.
I still find it kind of funny that Barbara has gone from being one of the most useless in the earlier episodes to being one of the best.
Jerome and Penguin teaming up should be fun.
Grundy regaining Butch's memories should be interesting.

Wow. I thought that the finale was it, but wait--there's more! Production values and direction are top-notch, and the storytelling has (but for fewer eye-rolling moments) been very, very good. I almost have this feeling that the show is "finding itself", meaning that it isn't about Batman genesis, but about GOTHAM. Mood.
