Glen Campbell's condition worsens

Shame, I really like Campbell, and to see this happen to somebody so vibrant is especially sad.

A lot of his stuff is really horrible, especially his love songs, but along with a smattering of the old classics his recent output has been brilliant. His covers album and Ghost on the Canvas were both excellent albums. Many of the songs on the covers album are much more entertaining than the originals, especially Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).

Yea :(. He's one good musician and he'll be missed when he's gone.

That was a great record. I'm a huge Lou reed fan, but Glen's cover of "Jesus" made the original pale by comparison.

I have a fairly high tolerance for the old schmaltzy love songs. You can't beat the production values and the Jimmy Webb songwriting.

But I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I actually went to see him on the farewell tour. His voice was decent but getting a little weak. He had some problems remembering the lyrics. But the fascinating thing was at the time he can still play guitar like nobody else.

Anyone who does not realize what an incredible guitarist he was should seek out the documentary on the wrecking crew

He's always been a terrific picker. I was too young to remember the time he was the hottest thing going, with his own variety show and True Grit and all, but even in the '70s he was huge. Campbell had some dark times and did some things nobody would be proud of, but he seemed to get it under control in the last couple of decades. As many of us know, the "long goodbye" of Alzheimer's is a cruel way to go.

I sure remember it.My parents were fans. We watched the show, saw the movie and played the records at my house. Though I had no idea of his background as a session player until later. A great talent to be sure.
