Glee

^ I think she's despicable as well, and I hope Will finds about her scheme sooner rather than later so that storyline (and the character) can be buried once and for all.

The actor who plays Will has done a number of interviews lately. It seems like in every one, the interviewer asks about that. He keeps saying that what she has done is completely unforgivable, and will be the straw that breaks his back.

The question is, will it happen in time to stop Emma from marrying Ken?

I just finished watching "Wheels", and I just have to gush a little bit here. I don't know if they've been intentionally saving up all the good for this one episode, but this was the best episode of Glee by far. THIS is what the show should be every week as far as I'm concerned. They hit every single emotional and dramatic beat with this one. The episode felt longer than the standard 42 minutes, not because it was dragging, but because they seemed to cram so much goodness into such a short time span.

This one made me glad I re-subscribed. Here's hoping this will become a trend.

I realized something last night. I look forward to Glee every week. I pretty much have stuck with two new shows this season (Flash Forward and this one) and Glee is the one I like the best of the two. Really loved everything about this one, from Artie getting more to do, to Kurt and his somewhat new and timid relationship with his father. Also loved the stuff with Sue and the little bit of surprise that what Sue was doing was genuine. Also, loved the duet of Defying Gravity, and the Wheel Chair number was great too. Great episode last night.

Noticeably absent - Emma, Coach, and Will's wife. The whole love quadrangle was completely missing this week, and I think that went a huge distance toward elevating this week's episode.

Yeah I noticed that too. Much tighter focus on what was going on at the school and with the Club. Like I said, probably the best episode of the season.

One of the cool things about last nights episode is I'm watching it and the part where Puck tries to give Quinn the money from the bake sale for the baby (Really hope they put those two together) but anyway it switches to seeing Rachel getting Finn a job and I went "OMG ITS VORK!" lol. The Manager at that restaurant plays Vork in The Guild web show.

I had mixed feelings on last nights episode because when this show tries to be kind of sweet and sentimental it kinda feels off. I'm also not sure I like where they went with Sue's character because while I don't like one-dimensional characters I love completely Evil Sue and now that's kind of gone.

Another great episode last night. I'm not sure why, but I find Rachael's smile really really cute. Actually, last night was the first time I liked her for something other then her actual singing, even though the story got a bit annoying after Gwen's family tossed her out, which was a gut wrenchingly powerful scene for this series.

Quinn, her name is Quinn. She's supplemented Rachel as my favorite character, but I'm prepared to hate her when the truth about her and Puck comes out.

The episode felt pretty generic to me. It was too much soap opera and not enough funny stuff from Sue and the regular characters. The musical numbers were pretty good, but the rest fell flat and Mr. Glenn Beck lover is a total and complete moron.

I'm getting kind of tired of the way those who know Puck is the real father are treating him. Yes, Quinn is the one who is pregnant, but it is HIS daughter too! He has every right to speak up for himself and have a role in her life. Of course Quinn has the choice as to who she wants to be with, and she is welcome to OFFER THAT CHOICE to Finn. But to lie and lay that responsibility on Finn is absolutely inexcusable, and SOMEONE needs to call her out on it, instead of babying her because she's pregnant and "going through a tough time." Please. She got herself into it. Now she has to deal with it. It isn't helping me to have sympathy for her when I am really not impressed with the actress. She did snotty and prissy just fine, but the emotional scenes are not working for me at all.

We're starting to push the envelope with the music too. No young man in his right mind, I don't care how much he loves music, would break the news to his girlfriend's parents that he got her pregnant by singing "Having My Baby." :wtf: No teacher as smart as Mr. Shuester would sing ANY song to ANY teenage girl who had a crush on him. I don't care what you're singing - you're singing TO her, and she will find a way to misconstrue your intentions. They seem to be having a harder and harder time incorporating new music into the series in a believable way.

I can't really articulate my feelings about how Quinn's parents are written. Maybe later I'll be able to say it in a way that makes sense.

IMHO, the best episode so far.

Three great things happened in this episode:

  • They integrated, in a creative and entertaining way, the wheel chairs into the show.
  • Sue's scene with her sister was perfect. We all expected to see her pick on that poor girl, but in the end, she was genuine. I was prepared to be pissed at the show over what I presumed was going to be a total insult-fest of her Down's Syndrome. The part with her reading to her sister made even, jaded little me, misty-eyed.
  • Kurt and his dad. His detente with his father is, on at least some level, what I would love with mine, so I found that evolution in their relationship to be touching.

It was too neatly packaged and saccharine for my tastes, but it worked. Sue is most of the reasons I'm watching this show, and it was definitely a good episode for her.

The dvds were released today. It seems they are hard to come by for some reason. NFM ordered 50 copies and only got TWO copies in. Best Buy had multiple boxes come in, and I grabbed the last two copies. I checked with two other stores, and they were both sold out.

It's not labeled as such, but this box set does have the extended director's cut of the pilot.

^Oh cool--I was wondering if the Director's Cut was on the DVDs. I grabbed a copy from Best Buy this morning. I've only seen the last two episodes, so I'm looking forward to watching the rest and being caught up before the show comes back in April.
