Give me an F, give me an I, give me a R, give me an E, give me a D...

Should have been fired?

2) Or by viewing magazines that adults should have made sure they weren't viewing.

And we know that children are just so great about doing what their parents say and not getting a hold of contraband!

The fault still lies with the parents not with the models who pose for the photos.

Parents can't keep an eye on or control their children 24/7. Teenagers especially are known for flouting rules. And it's not her fault that the kids SAW the pictures but it is her fault for undermining her authoirty and the school's integrity and image for posing for the pictures.

It's not fair, sure, but the school did the right thing for themselves.

I also hope that the cheerleading squad poses for Playboy en masse to show their solidarity. As soon as they turn eighteen, of course.

I support this idea.

Re: Give me an F, give me an I, give me a R, give me an E, give me a D

I would be 100% more interested about how well a teacher taught than whether or not she posed for Playboy. I don't consider Playboy to be pornographic, and I don't consider nudity in itself to be a bad thing so I cannot see what harm she has actually done to anyone.

Re: Give me an F, give me an I, give me a R, give me an E, give me a D

I don't think it was the brightest idea to fire her. (or for her to pose for that matter).

If it was in her contract though, they were right to fire her.

Unfortuantly her posing nude undermines her teaching.

Re: Give me an F, give me an I, give me a R, give me an E, give me a D

How is it undermining her teaching? She keeps her clothes on while teaching and that is all that should matter.

Obviously the students can't respect a teacher who isn't ashamed of their body and human sexuality like a good woman should be.

Re: Give me an F, give me an I, give me a R, give me an E, give me a D

I don't care that she posed for Palyboy. That's her bussiness.

She did however break her contract, the school made the right decision.

It's not like teachers don't already go into as much debt as every other university student but take much longer to pay it off because the only jobs their degrees are any good for have shitty pay and benefits, just so they can work long hours and be treated like babysitters instead of teachers.

They get much more vacation time than most other professions, though. That's a huge plus.

Re: Give me an F, give me an I, give me a R, give me an E, give me a D

It does, however, reflect on the IMAGE of her job and thus on the integrity and image of the school. Would you want YOUR child's teacher to be an Playboy?

Yes. Yes I would....

Re: Give me an F, give me an I, give me a R, give me an E, give me a D

Unless there was something in her contract specifically forbidding her from doing this, there was no justification to fire her.

I dot see any reason why I should care. There is nothing wrong or immoral about nudity. Why are so many people convinced that there is?

Responsible parents can do so. Children need limits and don't realize that they expect them. People like you, who say, "Oh, the kids are going to smoke, drink, and have sex anyway" are the ones who cause these problems.

These pictures did not undermine anything. They are just pictures. If some teens saw some pictures of a naked lady it is no big deal. They have been doing that for generations.

She did however break her contract, the school made the right decision.
She did no such thing. The contract mentions degrading behavior. Posing nude is not degrading.

Re: Give me an F, give me an I, give me a R, give me an E, give me a D

^That's wishful thinking. Maybe such pictures shouldn't undermine authority, but the fact is, they will.

Looking at pictures of naked women doesn't really fall in the same category. I'm about as square as they come with regards to those three, and even I did that when I was a teenager.

That's a matter of opinion. In the school's it was degrading and I can understand why.

:guffaw: Both my parents are teachers, and both of them have 11 month contracts. My dad actually has trouble taking a month off because even over summer he has a lot of shit to do because he teaches Ag./Vo. Ed. and is the FFA adviser. They not only have judging contests over the summer, they often do certain fund raising activities, volunteer work (since the community expects it from then, not unlike the Boy Scouts), and the State Fair.
