GI Joe 2

reminds me of the cartoon Joe movie. Duke died, but after kids reacted badly to Optimus Prime's death in Transformers, they hamfistedly dubbed in a line that Duke had slipped into a coma and then that he'd come out of it near the end.

That's what I was hoping they'd do with the new movie after Channing's star rose earlier this year. A hope that has since been dashed with news of the reshoot.

:(

Anyone else think Channing Tatum is a stage name? Everytime I hear it I keep thinking he was reading some article about Stockard Channing and Tatum O'Neil when he came up with it.

I was kinda surprised to find a handful of figures for the movie at Wal-Mart where I work today. I would have thought they'd request that any stuff not on shelves yet be returned.

What's shipped to stores is on sale. The rest is being held back until March. For example, Big Bad Toy Store just changed its listings, so despite sets of wave one still being in stock, new (restock) cases of wave one aren't due until March. Or new cases of wave anything else for that matter.

Ah, I thought it was just that the stuff on shelves was staying put, but nothing else would be going out to the shelves.

they'll sell what stock they've got to get rid of it. it ain't going to get recalled, that'd cost too much time and money.

What they're probably going to do is shoot a couple scenes with Duke in captivity, probably with his ole buddy Rex taunting him, leave most of the middle part the same, then reshoot the ending with Duke. All in all, expect to the format to be a lot like when Optimus "died" in revenge of the Fallen

Aside from the toys and the cost of warehousing them I am seeing magazine covers. Will publisers be paid to make coverboys out of the same people nine months from now?

doubt it. they'd either need to re-print the articles - which means wasting pages you could devote to something else - or do new articles - which means spending more money on articles.

at least for the UK film-mags and SFX etc, they can simply hold their stuff back since they're not publishing it yet since our release date was August any how.

Hopefully with the delay Hasbro might revisit the figures the first batch have reduced articulation and the one of The Rock has a gizmo fixed to his hand,I had to replace the hand on the one I got (with an extra from my custom box of parts),so he could hold some other weapons.

Though the Ninja set is nice, still full articulation and a cool Red Ninja.

I know they say it's a cost issue to change the articulation, but if they want to save money get rid of the stupid gimmick missile shooting things Hasbro keeps sticking with their various Action figure properties.

Well I'll now just have to wait to get a Bruce Willis action figure.

I just several pegs full of the figs, probably 2 boxes worth.
A few vehicles and role play masks for the film at a Target not far from me.
