GI Joe 2

Ian Keldon

Fleet Captain
Checked and couldn't find a thread on this, so starting one.

Why isn't anyone talking about this? The trailers are out and they look fantastic!

Dwane Johnson stars (I'm guessing as Roadblock), and Bruce Willis guest stars/cameos.

LOVE the new Cobra Commander costume from what I can see. Loved seeing the WHALE and RAM. Were those Rattlers in the opening seconds of the trailer?

Does anyone have any clear shots of the new Cobra Troopers in uniform?

I was floored by the fact that the first GI Joe was actually entertaining so I'll probably check this one out as well. Let's see if lighting strikes twice

i'm actually looking forward to Joe 2. it looks like a lot of fun.

I'm surprised this has passed so under everyone's radar. TWO big name stars and a major franchise usually draws more buzz than this.

BTW, I wasn't trying to suggest that I just saying there's more posts to read there. Wasn't too long ago that it was bad form to resurrect a thread.

I'll be seeing it, I'm actually more interested in this from a "got to see it" vantage point than I am The Amazing Spiderman. Joe 2 is moving forward with what seems progress and TAS is looking like a half baked reboot.

agreed. though i'm a big Spidey fan i'm just not all that interested or excited about TAS.

As I said in the SM thread, the "new" Peter just doesn't come off right to me, either in or out of costume.

Oh, I'll see TAS anyone who's been around awhile knows I'm an unapologetic comic fan.
For the "must go see it" vibe I feel it more for Joe 2 than defacto Spidey 4.

The best thing about this movie is that it looks like it has little in common with the POS first movie.

I'll probably check out Retaliation on DVD this winter. It looks interesting, and I'm a huge Rock fan but there are too many elements in the film that make me hesitant to give it my money lol.

i said it before and i'll say it again; it's hilarious how fandom was screaming it's heads off in terror at the idea that the guy who directed Step Up 2 and that Justin Beiber movie was doing Retaliation and now they're LOVING the trailers.

I was really surprised at how good the first one was so I'll definitely be checking this out at the cinema. Not too fussed about Bruce Willis but The Rock is awesome.

if only Sgt. Slaughter had a cameo. or, can you imagine a Sgt. Slaughter/The Rock team up in this movie.

^ I'd almost pay to see that! I wonder if either production bothered to reach out to him? Probably not. I wasn't one of the ones complaining about the choice of director either, but I do remember the thread and thought that there would be the reaction there was to it. I still wish JLG was in this film, that would be the clincher to get me back in theatre.

I thought the choice of director did sound odd, but as soon as he got the job he was doing interviews saying he was a fan and that he wanted to fix the stuff fans didn't like about the first movie. Then he posted a pic of HISS tank tracks on his twitter and loads of people just fell in love with him. It looks like it's going to be a really fun movie. I don't think it will blow me away, but I definitely want to see it more than Spider-Man or, even, The Avengers.
