One more try to get affirmation from other posters for a great idea by reposting fanwank from earlier post about how to get Shatner's Kirk into the movie.

Rant over how Hollywood doesn't cater to us over 40 years old and how we're lucky we got Nimoy in the film.

More ranting over how others see Shatner as a liability no matter what everyone else seems to say.

Statement of appreciation to OP for giving props to people who "get it." Statement of hope that I am one of those people.

Long, numbered list of TOS minutiae which Trek XI must get right in order to be commercially successful. Eighth item in list prefaced by a " :cool: " "Commercially successful" megalomaniacly defined as my deigning to watch the film. Angry rebuttal aimed at Woulfe. Implication of Jihad against him, despite premptive apology.
 
Disgusted and sanctimonious mention that a thread on this very topic was done and discussed to death just a few weeks ago. :rolleyes:
 
Long, pedantic list of ways in which this thread differs from the thread mentioend by the previous poster (a thread in which I made many of the same points as I have in this one). Insistance that this thread is completely original in topic and intent. Vague insinuation that the previous poster is a spammer and a troll who is only here to disrupt what is clearly the best thread in the topic.
 
Advice given on chilling out. Request for sand to be removed from vagina, knowing that a swift reprimand from a mod is surely on it's way.

Angry outburst about an unjust warning I received somewhere upthread. Refusal to take comments to PM. Insistence on debating the matter here and now. Misguided generalizations about free speech. Assumption that all other posters must see the reasonableness of my claim. Professed innocence despite having been repeatedly warned for similar behavior in the past year. Reference to a barely-related post made by another poster in another thread three months ago that did not receive a warning. Denial that my logic is clearly tainted by my hatred for this other poster, who hates me as well and will soon be along to rejoice in my frustration. Generalized insult to all moderators everywhere. Defiant statement that I don't care if this post gets me another warning. Vague threat that I may leave the BBS and never return (only to return three months later and act bewildered whenever anyone makes reference to this incident or my promise to leave forever).

Open admission that I am a fair-weather fan. Explanation that, when the post-season starts, you've got to make up excuses to root for someone if your team doesn't make it, and that I lived in Cleveland as a little boy. Mention that I pulled out the Indians avatar as soon as the post-season started and continued to employ the aforementioned avatar all during the three-in-a-row drubbing that ended their season. Admission that in the regular season I am a Dodgers/Tigers guy. Expression of love for baseball in general.

Sabermetric reference intended to also show love of baseball. This poster's own team were choking dogs after climbing to within one game of first in division late in the season.
As a gentle zing, after last year, quoted poster probably wouldn't want to know that "own team" of this poster is the Cardinals. [wink emoticon]

And Trek XI is mistakenly called TREK II throughout.
 
Angry post demanding why no one has bothered to comment on my idea. Quotes self, somehow expecting this to cause people to attempt to read the garbled manifesto.

Self important rant which implies that most of the people in this thread are too stupid to understand my idea. States that it's people like you that killed Trek.

Quotation of entirety of ancient's 10,000 word post. One line response, which completely misinterprits his point.
 
^ Stinging rebuke of above poster for inconsiderately quoting a lengthy post in it entirety, with sarcastic reminder about the instruction to quote only the relevant points to which one's post is responding.

Citation and copious quoting from source completely irrelevant to the topic at hand in a misguided (and ultimately unsuccessful) attempt to cast another post upthread in a bad light.
