This may have come up when the episode aired... but I was wondering. Did Harlan Ellison's estate (I believe his wife is still living) receive any royalties for the use of the Guardian of Forever in Discovery?

Susan Ellison died in 2020; I don’t believe they had any children.

I'm disappointed that we never got a quiet, private scene between Vance and Tal where they could acknowledge their past and friendship. Maybe it would have been too close to Dax and Sisko, but I was never quite satisfied with "he and I were familiar, you and I are not". I wanted details!

Interesting, concept for season 5 refers to the USS Locherer as a 32nd century defiant class, not Merian class

The art does show a merian class

TOS was the Kirk/Spock/McCoy show. Not many complaints there

Nice to see Sonequa Martin Green in new work. Just now saw a TV ad for her in a new show called Boston Blue with Donnie Walberg playing as his character Danny Reagan.

• The treatment of the Guardian of Forever irritated me to an unhealthy degree.
• Yeoh and Martin-Green brought their A-games. These are two people who could entertain an audience by reading the phone book.

Of any department on the production side in the Kurtzman era, the casting directors were consistently on their A-game over the last decade.
