Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

It was actually a believable evolution of the NX design from a couple of generations before. It was one of the only ships in the Battle of the Binary Stars that I kinda liked.
Yeah, it was the best one of those Starfleet ships in that battle. It also works as a nice precursor to the Miranda class. (And the Anton class from the FASA Federation ship recognition manual.)

So, I do things over streaming since I don't believe in cable. And I'm a cheapskate, so I don't do Paramount + or Disney +. My SW friends roll their eyes, so go ahead.

I just realized, all these things are at the library. So I just binge-watched S1 & S2 of Disco. I'm embarassed to admit I didn't put Disco and Discovery together at first.

I liked those two seasons. Good stories. A couple things that bugged me:
- The spinny ship. Can you imagine being on the outside of the saucer when that gets going? They likely have "air sickness bags" along those areas.
- They focused on one person so far. A smattering of others here and there, but this appears to be "The Michael Burnham Show." Except for Picard, most ST has been ensemble casts. I'd like more of others.

I did like the concept of the Spore Drive. Proven unsustainable, but a great "scientific achievement" for the show.

Minor things. Overall very good. Waiting for S3 to come in. I'll say more later.

Yep. Malcolm came close to being a "fourth" on ENT but didn't feature quite regularly enough to be considered part of a "main four." ENT basically copied the TOS regular series formula: all-American Captain, Vulcan science officer and Southern good ole boy.

Hell, Enterprise's main cast mostly consists of TOS parallels. In addition to the central triad of the Captain, the Vulcan and the Southerner, you got someone from the UK being the next most prominent character. Then Enterprise swapped TOS's black communications officer and Asian helmsman for an Asian communications officer and a black helmsman. Phlox is the only one of Enterprise's cast who is not a direct TOS parallel.
