Nope, never will either.
So Intel released their new generation of chips.. well impressive that they can match the enormous powerdraw of the previous generation, yep 400 watts is again possible and that even without AVX512 and all this while now being on a smaller production node AND with those new "efficiency" cores.![]()

So, dug out my old AthlonXP machine, did some maintenance and so on, the thing is running Windows XP of course and it feels just as fast and snappy as my 6 core 12 thread Ryzen 5 2600X, that one runs on 8.1.
The Athlon of course runs period correct software which does the same thing as the stuff on the Ryzen so indeed I guess that any speed gain whatsoever is going to be negated by software bloat.![]()
Is this a good place to ask for advice about an old synth I'm trying to repair? I've never soldered before and wonder if replacing batteries will bring the synth back to life, It still works but over the years has got less and less reliable and now none of the controls work or if they do it's very sporadic.
Google tells me that you are talking about an electric piano, but for shizzel, I thought that you were talking about a humaniform robot.

No, you have to have it sorted out by a pro, if it's really old all capacitors will be shot, all contacts will be corroded and so on, it would need some real sorting out.Is this a good place to ask for advice about an old synth I'm trying to repair?
