Gay Exorcism!?!?!

I'm not thinking, I'm stating.

What would it take to convince you that your attitude towards homosexuality is misguided? Direct confirmation from God? From Jesus? Because that's highly unlikely. Any other possibilities?

What about people who want the right to marry multiple parters? They have rights to don't they? Hey, if were going down this road...

Sure. If you can figure out the tax structuring and are masochistic enough to want to be married to several people, go for it!

That being said...wow. This thread just has way to much scary stuff. It's like a sociopolitical horror film or something!
Yeah, like a backwards country from the Dark Ages run by tyrannical superstitious theocrats. Welcome to the U.S. of A.

*sigh*

I hate this slippery slope thing that comes up whenever gay marriage is discussed. It's a convenient way to talk about anything but the issue at hand.

We all have our own views and opinions, lets be respectful of others opinions and understand we all believe different things. I have only stated what I believe, but I am not trying to make you believe what I believe.

It's such a hard topic to debate because it is so rare that anyone changes their mind. It's very rare that anything new ever gets said. I normally try to avoid such topics because they are all so redundant.

"Homosexuality is a sin. They shouldn't be allowed to marry. God said so."

"How does homosexual marriage negatively impact your life? It doesn't, so they should be allowed to marry."

"Marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman."

"Marriage is a legal contract and should have nothing to do with religion."

Around and around we go...

I was not directing my comment at any one person. I am expressing my amazement and dismay that in the 21st century, in one of the most advanced countries in the world, there are still people who believe in demons and practice exorcism, and who pray over dying children rather than seek medical help. I'm sorry, but this mindset is dangerous and deadly.

I know exactly where you're coming from. It's a debate that never goes anywhere. But it just bugs me when people throw in obviously logically fallacious stuff to muddy the waters of an already pretty muddy debate.

To be fair, Brent isn't trying to make anyone believe, neither is he trying to stop people from following their own paths. I ask that you folks keep that in mind, please. :)

Whereas I dislike that most supportive of same-sex marriage shy away from supporting polygamy, whether for pragmatic reasons or because they genuinely believe state recognition of relationships should be limited to those between two people. The former is a mild form of cowardice, the latter is bigotry no less objectionable than that of those opposed to same-sex marriage.
