I REALLY miss the old days of "Tech TV".
The story of G4 should be taught in media classes worldwide.
The name of the chapter would be "How to take a moderately successful product, completely alienate 95% of your fans, and turn potential customers off before they even give you a chance".
G4 is the New Coke of the television world.
You have no idea what I'm angry about do you? Did you read my post? I don't expect them to become a Japanese game show network. All I'm saying is that those shows are the only reason I watch G4. Everything else can suck my left nut.
I like Attack of the Show to a certain extent, but most of what they show is complete crap. I liked Star Trek 2.0 though.
The maturity is strong in this one.
Let's see...you could've mentioned how much you liked Ninja Warrior and Banzuke and had a good number of people agreeing with you, but instead chose to sound like a petulant little child who thinks swearing at stuff he doesn't like is cool. Yeah, that's REAL mature there.
My theory is that "Unbeatable Banzuke" will end when every person in Japan has been on the show. Honestly, it seems like they can get an entire neighborhood's worth of people on the air per episode.
Anyway, Tech TV wasn't the great network that everyone makes it out to be. They were trying different non-tech shows and formats to boost viewership. G4 just continues the trend with Japanese game shows and "COPS" reruns.
I still like "X-Play" in its new format, although the old daytime reruns remind me of how fun the older episodes were.

I just discovered we had G4 yesterday, and saw my first episodes of Unbeatable Banzuke.
Is this like Who Wants to be a Millionaire in the sense that hardly anyone ever wins?
Also: the channel sucks. It has sucked for a while now. But if they keep showing kooky Japanese game shows, I'm not going to harp about it too much.

I happen to like X-play and IMO the show has improved.
I can take or leave "attack of the show" as 75% of it is uninteresting.
Ninja Warrior was coll the first 500 times I watched it but now it's just like watching the same episode over and over and over.
And as far as Unbeatable Banzuke, Meh.

I never watched G4 for more than a few minutes at a time until they added Ninja Warrior (which I at first avoided, having been disturbed by MXC and Banzai) and Attack of the Show. Now, I love Ninja Warrior, Attack of the Show, Cheat! (I don't generally play video games, but the show's fun to watch), and Unbeatable Banzuke. G4 would easily be among my ten favorite channels.
X-Play's polls suck. They only give three options when there are more possibilities, i.e. Who's your favorite Street Fighter character? And they give you three choices.
