depends who the characters are.
if they go with this 'First Class' thing, with Jean, Cyke, Hank and someone else (doubt it'd be Bobby or Warren), I would.
Banshee? Firestar? Havok? Polaris?
Is it really so much to ask to have a movie that uses the original five? Seriously? I honestly will not be fully happy until they do, so no, I suppose I will never be fully happy...
Had the first X-Men film been set up slightly differently, it would have been easy to set the film sometime circa the group's 'All-New, All-Different X-Men' makeup - Beast and Angel are not present and presumed gone, Storm is already present, Wolverine shows up. But obviously there are a few kinks in that - Bobby and Colossus being kids, Warren being a kid and never having been there in the first place, Banshee, Polaris, Havok, and Nightcrawler not present, and kid Rogue showing up 'early.'
Making just these subtle changes would have appeased canonistas such as me while also delivering the more diverse group that fans wanted. X3 tried to do this a little with referencing Beast having been there in the beginning. For me, the original five would have all been about thirty to thirty-five (Ryan Reynolds being a nice substitute Bobby Drake for my money, Warren I dunno), except Beast, since Kelsey Grammar was pretty awesome. The 'All-New' X-Men I would make twenty-fivish with the exceptions of Wolverine and possibly Storm.
i did kinda get the impression when XM:FC was announced though, that they were doing something featuring the kids seen in X-1 through 3, IE: Iceman, Kitty, Colossus, Rogue, possibly Jubilee etc.
Me too, which made me, frankly, uninterested in the project.
I remember when there were about a half dozen X-Men comic books out there and Wolverine appeared in only one or 'em (not including his own).
The thing about the X-Men (at least during the '90s), was that there so many of 'em, that they could be divided into separate teams each with their own unique flava...
But those times have changed and it's now become "Wolverine and the X-Men" these days (yeah, I'm lookin' at you, Nicktoons)...
Agreed!
If they do more X-Men movies, please Ghod have them do Nightcrawler right. X2's version was okay, but they did not give me the bon vivant I grew up reading. Plus, he was the perfect foil/companion for Wolverine.
He also wasn't furry.
Agreed. Where's that 'velvet' skin?
