^ There was never anything stopping that from happening. It's not like any of us authors have any actual rights to these. Pocket could decide tomorrow to have someone other than me write the Gorkon gang, or have someone other than Peter write New Frontier, or someone other than Dave and Dayton & Kevin write Vanguard.
And there's nothing stopping other authors from doing stuff with the Klingons, viz. The Left Hand of Destiny, Errand of Fury, Vanguard, A Time to Kill, etc.

Why would they? Christie Golden's book have sold very well, she's working on other projects for the same company, and it's not as if there is a lot of space on the schedule.
You're assuming that Christie Golden has not communicated what she wants to do with the characters to the editor of her books and that she will be kept out of the loop. I don't think either possibility is terribly likely. Even if they take the characters somewhere else, it is her job to adapt to the current state of affairs or persuade her editor that it is best to take the inconsistent path.
IIRC, when it was revealed that Tuvok was going to be a regular in Titan, it was said here by either Marco Palmieri or Andy Mangels that the move had indeed been coordinated with Christie Golden. It would follow that she is being kept in the loop and can accomadate her next books, if that even becomes necessary. The VOY-R books are still over a year behind the TNG/Titan/NF books. And as the "Destiny" trilogy is said to set the direction of future Voyager books, I'd guess that whoever is writing those books, Christie Golden or not, will be in the loop as well.
Personally, I think that we should expect at least one, but probably two, more books from Christie Golden, in order to wrap up her loose plot-lines before they would even think of replacing her. And even then, I can't see why they would. As mentioned up-thread her VOY books sell quite well despite the generally negative opinion of the books in this forum.
