FUTURAMA: Rebirth

I loved the comic-con stuff and giggled a little when I saw the person in the Yivo costume. I had just watched "Beast with a billion backs" yesterday. But I really dislike the whole Omicronians. I think they're boring and unfunny and manage to ruin pretty much every storyline they're in. The only episode I liked with them was "The Problem with Popplers." A drop from the recently good string of eps. Here's hoping next week episode is better.
Anyone else catch that Shatner reference with the Zapp Brannigan toy? I loved it so much it inspired me to start a thread.

I guess I liked it more than most. Only time and multiple viewings will tell, but that ep could easily end up in my top 10 when it's all said and done - definitely top 20.
In fact, I'd say at least 3 eps from this new season could be contenders. Very strong re-birth of the show. I'm guessing CC has to be pretty happy they revived it. I hope the ratings are really good. I'm assuming they get good numbers, considering how often they replay eps throughout the week.

I thought this episode was alright. Props to having the most creative title ever.

Fox's show cancelling technology is gettign far far quicker in the year 3000.

You'd think after 1000 years people would learn not to film sci-fi shows for FOX.
They should have quit while they were a head. 
I guess I find Lrrr and Morbo to be very similar in the "Alien yelling how much they detest humans, while still showing an affection for them" vein. At least with Morbo, it's quick bits, Lrrr usually demands an entire plot revolving around him.
I'm willing to forgive the distance thing, assuming, for some reason, in the 31st century, they are able to transmit signals across distances quickly (subspace communication, perhaps). Though it's funny that this is twice that Omincronians fell for a horrible written/acted script.
Maurice LaMarche's Orson Wells, while always enjoyable, takes me out of the story. I keep picturing him from The Critic (obviously not a connection most would make).
Still a very enjoyable episode, with a few good laughs. Can't wait for next week, though I'm sad it's the last new one for a while (Christmas, right?).

Well, recall that in 2208, scientists increased the speed of light to allow interstellar travel. So the Omicronians would get 31st-century broadcasts with much less time delay. (Apparently old signals continued to propagate at the previous speed of light, though, which is odd.)
Oh, hey, the Infosphere reports that in the W's section of the Head Museum, along with Orson Welles and H. G. Wells, you can see the head of Frank Welker! Awesome!
Wow, that episode was a bit rambling and in-jokey...Futurama's writing is getting lazier than it used to be. But the characters are so fun to see interact, especially with the recurring characters like Lllrrr (not even attempting to spell that right 
) that it doesn't make all that much difference to me.
Here's hoping that isn't the last we've seen of Futurella. Internet petition campaign, anyone? Should we send tater tots and call them popplers? But who do we send them to, Comedy Central or FOX? I prefer the latter, let's just confuse them.
