A mural about urination? That would be a whiz. If your friends help out, then urine good company.

Whiz has a couple of meanings in Philly. ;)

    *Moist*

I have a cousin that hates that word probably more than the bad 'C'-word. So, of course, being the loving family that we are... ;)

Pretty much every word is funny to me. I've only recently been paying more attention to etymology and before that, I always wondered how certain words came about.

"There are no words to describe how much it bugs me when people don't know the difference between etymology and entomology."

What about team names that aren't plural, like the Utah Jazz? Is a member of the team called a Utah Jazzman?

Traditionally, it was standard journalistic practice to write headlines in "clipped English," avoiding the articles a, an and the and the present tense of to be. Modern news media are much less strict about those rules.

my favourite word is dragonfly. It is neither a fly nor does it look like a dragon. It's not even able to breathe fire. Apart from it having an insatiable appetite I fail to see any parallels between dragonflies and dragons.
I like dragonflies' German name, though: Libelle. It sounds a bit like a waltz and fits these pretty animals' way of flitting here and there in short bursts. Also 'lieb' (same pronounciation) means dear/friendly/gentle and is directly derived from Liebe (love). Could any name describe this lovable animal better? :adore:

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies refers to the city's collection of antique carousels (dating back to the late 1800s) scattered around the city. A rumble pony is also another name for a rocking horse.

I like "rumble pony". It sounds a little more interesting than rocking horse.
