^^ Dr. Soong is a great character, and Spiner did a great job with him. Humor, snark, and even pathos.
A Night in Sickbay is dumb, but it's definitely funny. If you just want to chill and watch some lowbrow Trek, it'll work for you. It's good for watching while drinking, because it gets sillier as it goes.
Can't vouch for "high" because weed doesn't really seem to affect me and nothing else is legal right now. But its third-grade level gags (Phlox's tongue, dogs peeing on things, T'Pol's random wardrobe malfunction, Archer's chainsaw ritual) get pretty funny after a couple of beers.Watching A Night in Sickbay while high or Drunk might actually improve the overall experience of both.
I'm so glad they brought back that goofy element from the pilot episode (well not exactly, but obviously Denobulans have several muscular-skeletal quirks to their craniumsAnd watch Phlox play pufferfish.
~ I came here to suggest "Precious Cargo", too. A lot of people seem to despise it, but it's a fun, light-hearted episode that still makes me laugh even after the fiftybillionth rewatchThe Tribunal scene from "Precious Cargo" is the highlight of the episode for me-- "Does your culture observe any postmortem rituals?"I think it was an homage to the screwball comedies of the 30s, so meant to be lighthearted.
~ I quite agree - and I have seen it several times. Despite what happens to Hoshi and Trip, we know they'll be okay as they're in the main cast, so I have no qualms about finding humour in the Organians roaming the ship and conversing amongst themselves as they swap bodies. Except for Organian Malcolm's lechery towards that female crewman. Ick!What about "Observer Effect"? I've never seen it but that sounds pretty self-contained and a bit TOS-ish.
