Funniest Trek Character

When Trek tries to be "funny" I don't find myself laughing.

But Spock often has a line that is funny to me. In "Devil in the DarK," Kirk is in danger and Spock says over the comm., "I shall quicken my pace." Stuff like that. Nimoy was nuanced enough to play it as if Spock is aware that he isn't speaking commoner English, but likes talking as he does -- if that makes any sense.

Also Garak, probably my favorite Trek character.

McCoy and Spock are the best comedy team of all Star Trek. They are a team, much funnier when together than separate.

Q and Lwaxana were both great comedy for TNG.

The Ferengi family in DS9 "Little Green Men" are hilarious!

The Doctor EMH gave me many chuckles due to his dry wit in VOY.

I agree, when trek tries to be funny, I don't always get it, but it's the unintentional things that get the laugh.

Well, one intentional one I can think of is when Picard is pretending to be a jealous unbalanced lover threatening a Ferengi in order to get Loxana Troi back.

He goes into this bizarre Shakespeare routine wich is pretty funny.

The unintentional ones- when Data reveals at his hearing that he and Tasha were ....."intimate"

Everyone has a look like...'ewwkay............."

But Quark is the funniest, IMO. He gets to say the funniest things.

Come on! There has to be another way out of this!

You people (Klingons) have rituals for everything except waste extraction!

Or maybe Grand Nagus Zek -- he's always got something funny to say.

Simple answer for me would be Q, hands down..... nobody had better quips, come backs and smart-ass remarks then he did.

While all the others had funny moments, Q was just plain funny in almost everything he did 98% of the time.

"Is there a..... Jen Luck Pick'rd here?"

Of what I know, I present the following opinions.

TOS: Always Spock and McCoy. As a pair, because they're HYSTERICAL together. There exists few things funnier than putting polar opposites in a room. I can't go into specifics, but they way they fight, like an old married couple. HILARIOUS.

TNG: Data, Lwaxana Troi, Q, in that order. Data, the poor thing. When he's dealing with western holodeck simulations [cough random accent cough], cats ["*concern* I cannot stun my cat."], women [Borg Queen. cough.], and overloading circuits [DREAMS THAT MEAN SO MUCH]. And oh lord Lwaxana Troi. I laughed SO HARD as I saw Picard reciting the famous Midsummer Night monologue to get her back from the Ferengi. "Lay in a course for Betazed. Warp 9." Q, when he's not being testy and serious or threatening [namely the first and the last episodes], he's hysterical. I think it's his genius and lack of inhibitions, keeping him from spitting every biting comment ["How could you stand that hair on his face?"] or being ridiculously bold [or gay] towards Picard [Tapestry. Qpid. Too close.].

All so brilliant and make me love Star Trek that much more.

Q, Spock, Dr. McCoy, Quark and Odo (who always had kind of a Oscar/Felix thing going with Quark) will always be the top-five for me.
