Funniest Episodes

I've been watching TOS in order, and I just got to "I, Mudd." I don't think I've ever laughed so much at a Star Trek episode. That really surprised me, because TOS isn't my favorite series, and I hated "Mudd's Women". But "I, Mudd" was hilarious.

So, my question is... Which episode do you think is the all-time funniest? Or tell us your funniest for each series.

I normally hate holodeck episodes, but "Bride of Chaotica" from VOY was so very funny.

Janeway: Let me get this straight: trans-dimensional aliens have mistaken your Captain Proton simulation for reality.
Paris: Yes ma'am.
Janeway: And now an armed conflict has broken out between these aliens, and Chaotica's holographic army.
Paris: Yes ma'am. His army of evil.
-----------------------
Paris: Well, he's been attacking the aliens with his death ray.
Tuvok: It's a shame we don't have one.

It was funny. Janeway as Arachnia was hilarious.

DS9 had some very funny episodes, mainly centred around the Ferengi in the show. Not sure which would be my favourite but the ones that come to mind would be "The Ascent", "The Magnificent Ferengi", "Little Green Men", "Who Mourns for Morn?"

Apart from the obvious comedy episodes I did find that DS9 used humour the best out of the various series.

I'm a fan of "Take Me Out to the Holosuite".

Bashir: "They just... chewed it?"
O'Brien: "No, they infused the gum with flavor."
Bashir: "What flavor did you infuse it with?"
O'Brien: "Scotch."

Sisko: "Alright, Niners, let's hear some chatter."
Leeta: "Hey, batter, batter, batter, batter, batter."
Kira: "Hey, batter, batter, batter, batter, batter, batter, batter."
Worf: "Death to the opposition!"

I just watched "I, Mudd" last night, and I have to agree. Whenever I need to confound someone, I can just remember that "logic is a pretty wreath of flowers that smells bad." :rommie:

"I, Mudd" is up there, but "Piece Of The Action" makes me LOL just a tiny bit more.:guffaw:

I loved "The Trouble with Tribbles" and the DS9 follow-up to it. Loved Kirk's lines in the first. The reaction to the flat headed Klingons was classic, too! Oh, and any show with Q!

I just watched the DS9 episode again and realized that Sisko subtly copies Kirk's funny repeated line when he says "storage compartments" twice. :) I think "I, Mudd" is funnier than "Mudd's Women" too (my favourite line is "I love you, and I hate you"), except I thought it was too cruel what they did to Mudd at the end. I guess he deserved it a little bit, but that many nagging wives is too harsh a punishment even for him!

"His Way" and "Take Me Out to the Holosuite" are two of my favourite DS9 episodes most of all because they're so funny. Worf's "death to the opposition" line is as funny as any of his classic hilarious lines on TNG and I loved the way Vic's archaic expressions befuddled the DS9 crew, like when he called Shakaar a "fink".

I thought "Our Man Bashir" was one of the funniest episodes too, especially with Avery Brooks' over-the-top Bond villain performance and Garak's disgust at Bashir's fantasy life. Unfortunately, it gets a little uncomfortably serious when Garak starts insisting on shutting down the program and killing all the crew members stuck in it. :(

In fairness, Bashir's fantasy life was kind of ridiculous. I like Bashir, but the Bond stuff was really silly. More exciting than Robin Hood, though (I'm looking at you, Captain Picard!)

TOS: The Trouble with Tribbles; A Piece of the Action; I, Mudd
TNG: Deja Q
DS9: The Magnificient Ferengi; Take Me Out to the Holosuite
VOY: Bride of Chaotica
ENT: Unexpected; Singularity (CARROTS!!!)

The Magnificent Ferengi was so hilarious I missed half of it because I was laughing at the other half.
