Full Metal Jacket DVD- worth upgrading?

Now then, I have the original Full Metal Jacket bare bones DVD (well there's a trailer on there, gosh) and wondered if it was worth upgrading the recent Special Edition version released a while back along with other Kubrick films. I've seen it in the shops for fairly cheapish

My DVD is the 4:3 version, but I see the SE is in widescreen.
Are the extras any good? Does it look better is Widescreen?


I'm not an expert but didn't Kubrick do all his films in 4:3 originally, and so the widescreen versions are actually the copped ones?
So is it worth upgrading to the FMJ SE DVD?

Kubrick intended for most of his films to be exhibited in 4:3. Most copies of Full Metal Jacket have been cropped to widescreen, IIRC.
