A solid episode. My thoughts:

1. Peter really needs to figure out that this is AltOlivia. I can't keep screaming this at my t.v. everytime he makes a move/or she does.
2. Awww Walter! A goldmine as usual. Aspirin! Best Astrid name yet.
3. Alt/Olivia. Hate her. Want her dead. Yesterday.

I hope our Olivia makes it back soon!

Since our Walter was the first to crossover between the universes, that raises the question of how the parts for the doomsday machine can be both universes. The Alt-universe infiltrators certainly didn't bring them over; they're trying to retrieve them. That means that Walternate did NOT invent the doomsday machine (since some parts are "here").

Do we know for certain that this IS a doomsday machine? Is it possible that it is supposed to be some sort of bridge between the universes, or unite them or something? And Peter is the main cog of it? The Observer was pretty clear that ONE Peter had to survive (because he was a part of the machine?). Perhaps the machine could be destructive if used one way, but constructive if used another--and Peter is at the crux of it all.
Maybe Bell managed to get some parts over there. Or maybe the parts are in both universes and now that peter is on our side, the alt-verse wants to build it here to destroy our universe.

I thought Bell was simply building it, which does not necessarily mean creating it from scratch. They likely found various pieces, had no idea what they had, and it was Bell who figured it out for them.

What I'm confused about is why they were so ready to grab Peter when the machine wasn't even close to being ready and key components were still hidden in the other universe. Especially considering the difficulties they have of transporting from one side to the other.

Yes, I think the same pieces are on both sides. That's how they knew to dig under that specific house - it was in the same spot as they had found it in the alternate universe.
