Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

FBI: Special Investigation Unit was rather lackluster tonight. I'm worried about the new season making "Fringe Division" seem so small, it seemed better when it was inside what seemed to be a larger unit. Even Massive Dynamic seems to be reduced to Blair Brown wandering around. It's starting to feel like Torchwood now. I hope this is just the season getting off to a shaky start.

Did they cut the budget or something?

Well at least they had a legitimate reason for investigating all the missing people of that area. The X-Files would just fight aliens one episode and then go look for vampires the next. I hope Fringe can stay on course since the mirror universe premise actually separates them from X-Files.

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

Indeed this felt very "X-Files" even the lone home out in a corn field.

I was expecting Smoking bastard to cover up the super baby.

I think so, and I'm pretty sure they moved filming to somewhere / somewhere different in Canada.

Also the very early numbers were just posted and as everyone feared the 9pm Thursday time slot is killing the show. They should movie Bones and Fringe to Tuesday and bump everythnig else a day over.

FOX’s Bones had a 5.6/9, but Fringe (3.6/6) wasn’t as lucky at 9pm facing off against Grey’s Anatomy & CSI (both with (9.9/16). Fringe is down from last week’s 4.8/8 in the early metered markets.

Whatever possessed them to put it in that time slot?!?

Next thing ya know they'll be changing the episode order and pre-empting it for football!

The morons at Fox of course!

Not only is it up against CSI and Grey is a Whore, but it's also on at the same time as Supernatural, which has a loyal fanbase that might also watch Fringe.

Also Fringe will not be shown for at least one week because of baseball.

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

I was about to mention that it got creamed. They need to move it immediately. I doubt they'll cancel it, at least not yet, but I won't be surprised if we see a move before November sweeps.

Where are they going to move it to? Fridays? Unless they do like I say and completely move around everything the show is seriously fucked.

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

So will this be another Shark? A hit in the first season, moved to a bad time slot for the second season where it gets killed and because that's the fault of the show and the executives take no responsibility for their actions whatsoever, it gets canceled?

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

Hmph. This was definitely another X-Files ripoff and a bit of a disppointment. Last season really picked up steam towards the end and I was just getting into it. Now they seem to have lost momentum and are pushing Olivia out from lead character position. I hope things turn around soon.

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

Am I crazy, or is the preview for next week's episode giving me deja vu? There was an episode last season with the exact same concept, of a compound that could make a person into a bomb. But they're acting in the trailer like they haven't seen this before...

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

Deja-vu? Nah, you were just experiencing a flicker of an episode another you watched in the parallel universe. That episode you think you saw already? Never happened here. Or vice-versa. Or....something. ;)

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

All I'll say is that I hope they are double-bluffing fake-Charlie. I mean, you have a guy who can change his appearance at will and no one is at all suspicious when your one guy runs off on his own and kills him?

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

Double bluffing? Once the Fake Charlie plots runs its course, they'll just bring in Mirror Universe Charlie.

Re: Fringe: "Night of the Desirable Objects" 9/24 - Grading & Discussi

So was all this stuff back in the summer about Kirk Acevedo leaving the show because his contract wasn't renewed (or whatever it was) also just a clever bluff/misdirection by TPTB & Acevedo himself? Because obviously he's still there (as Charlie/not-Charlie) and will continue to be there for the next while it seems. Or was the not-Charlie thing a last minute idea they came up with to keep the actor after all?

I think it was the part of your post I just bolded.

But regardless he'll be gone by the end of the season, unless they try and bring the alternate-Charlie that we've seen before into the regular universe.
