For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 17th

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but since anyone who's a fan of DS9 might also be a fan of the 4400 because of Ira Behr, Rene Echevarria (no longer actively with The 4400 but is credited as one of the series creators), and Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun / Brunt), I thought it fitting to remind everyone that season 4 of the show will be starting on June 17th.

Also, the dvd set of season 3 just came out for anyone who needs to catch up in time for the season 4 premiere.
It's just an awesome awesome show, and if you haven't checked it out yet you should. Season 1 os only 5 episodes so if you haven't seen the show at all, thats the place to start.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

Man does this show rule. Check it out if you haven't.

A great concept, intelligent scripting and lots of Jeffrey Combs. For my money the best non-space sci-fi out there right now.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

Hopefully Sky as a co-producer will not be that far behind.

One of the only interesting TV shows during the summer...

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

I've been a big fan as well, but lately Heroes has been a more interesting show. Thoughtfully drawn characters and cogent story telling. Just the same, nothing beat that first season for a scintillating theme.

What? You only have room to like one show at a time or something?

Personally, I'm looking forward to the next season of The 4400. I say, the more decent scifi shows around, the better. It's not a competition. ;)

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

Is Jeffrey Combs still in The 4400? I haven't watched it for a while.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

^Yeah, I think Jeffrey Combs will play a large part in the forthcoming season. His character and Tess helped Jordan Collier (Billy Campbell) steal the Promicin which can enable normal people to develop 4400 abilities. Plus he was also injecting himself with it all last season so it's very possible that he might develop an ability himself this season.

I just hope Billy Campbell is on the show for the whole season since his character is one of the most interesting, and he's never been on for a full season yet.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

^^
I think Campbell's been added as a regular in season four, so no worries.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

Thanks for posting this cwalrus2. I've always meant to buy seasons one and two of The 4400 on DVD, but I always forget while I'm in town.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

Yeah, Burkhoff has an ability already,
He can recover from injury instantly, this one time he got shot like 6 times and he woke right up.
and it sounds like he's gonna be in something like half the episodes.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

^ Yeah, I forgot about that since I haven't seen the show in a year. I've just started re-watching season 3 on dvd. Early on, Burkoff stabbs himself in the back of the hand to prove to Skouris that he's developing a 4400 ability.

There are so many interesting aspects of this show to look forward to. Personally, I can't wait to see whats going to happen with Jordan Collier. Is he really acting on behalf of the "good" future people trying to save humanity as he claims or is he the one that actually causes the catastrophe and maybe Isabelle should have killed him while she had the chance. It's just a great show, and it's actually not that hard to catch up if you haven't watched all the episodes because they usually recap everything before each episode so if you like Ira Behr and DS9's style of smart storytelling, definitely check it this show out. As I said, the 1st season is only 5 episodes so it's not that hard to catch up for those people who want to. Even if you don't it's still not that hard to follow the show once you start watching.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

What channel is this on? USA? My wife has seen a few eps and loves it. I need to start watching it - anything with Behr and Combs involvement is a must!

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

Us Brit's will just have to keep an eye out on Sky to see when they'll be showing it, Soon hopefully. After all with Lost almost over till next year, SG-1 and SG:A along with BSG finsihed my Sky Planner of shows to watch is looking rather empty.

I agree. The first season is so short and interesting that you can watch it in a day.

The second season takes longer...but is just as interesting. Same with season 3. This is not an insurmountable task.

I started watching The 4400 during the break between season 2 and 3...and it was easy to catch up, because the show is really good.

But I DO think it is best to actually watch the show in order, if at all possible. Jumping in at the beginning of season 4 would make for a pretty confusing show...and the back stories of people like Jordan, Isabelle, the whole Shawn/Kyle thing, and even Ryland, would be needed to really understand and appreciate what is going on.

Tom and Diane are probably the LEAST complex characters on the entire show, even though they get the most screen time.

Re: For Ira Behr Fans: 4400's 4th season to start on June 1

I picked up seasons one and two on Friday. Thanks for reminding me what a great series 4400 is.

When/why did Rene Echevarria and Robert Hewitt Wolfe leave the series? Were they like Michael Piller and DS9? (establish and then hand over the reigns?)

You're right, it's not a competition. But the long wait between seasons allows one time to contemplate what I enjoy in the show, the ways I find the show dissatisfying, as well as the possibility of finding more satisfying fare. Comparing and contrasting is natural. I'll certainly be sitting in front of the tube when the season begins!
