I am halfway through season 6 (the end is near). Well, now we know why he's called Hodor (it's short for hold the door)... I think there's kind of a chicken and the egg paradox there...

So five and a half down, two and a half to go.

Yeah, that was one of the most brutal and heartbreaking deaths.

The Hodor reveal also was amazing and i loved seeing reaction videos and pinpoint the exact time when people put two and two together just like i did when o originally saw the episode.

One thing that bothered me about the series arc for Bran...though as mentioned, I haven't seen the last season...and which I hope the books will do differently, is how apathetic he became. I imagine being able to see essentially everywhere everywhen would tend to isolate one, but his dismissal of Meera(?) for instance, was just terrible, and even around his family he seems largely uninterested. While I know he doesn't have time to mourn for Hodor in the then and there, he never really does it at all, does he?

I just watched episode 9 of season 6, IE when Ramsay is eaten alive by his own dogs. Someone asked if I am enjoying the show. Well, yes I am. For one thing, I am curious as to what's ahead, which is a good sign.

Only 14 episodes to go now.

I heard that was cause the actress wanted to leave.

Well, then she really was crazy. Who in their right mind would want to leave a successful series like that?

Well, her contributions to the story were likely done in any case, but even if the actress wanted out they could have let her go with some dignity.

Or killed off her character. :P

As it is, Bran is just a jerk to her.

I am not there yet so I can't comment on that.

I have just watched season 7 episode 3. IE when Diana Rigg aka Olenna confesses to killing Joffrey after drinking the poison. It was a big f* you to both Jaime and Cersei, who couldn't do anything about it since she was going to die. The cruel Cersei wouldn't have granted her a painless death if she had suspected that she was Joffrey's killer.

Ten to go and then I'll make my overall comment.

BTW, it took me some time to recognize Diana Rigg aka Emma Peel, if you guys know what I am talking about.

GoT was fantastic, probably the best TV series ever. I miss it.

    Fixed that one for you.

In Season 8, GoT fell off a cliff harder than any other series I can remember, which completely ruined everything that came before.

So did I. It was never going to please everyone. For a series as epic as this that felt like it could go on forever, ending it was always going to be disappointing to some people.

The series ending was fine; by the standards of any other series it would have been excellent. People complain because the ending was compacted compared to the rest of the series, but I imagine if the show went for nine or ten seasons people would complain that it dragged out.

Now that I've seen it. I agree that Bran's goodbye to Meera was cold, to say the least. Why did he turn into a Vulcan? Plus he owes her his life many times over.

I don't know how Bran evolves in the final season, but that scene did a lot to undermine the character's likability for me. I'm okay with the notion that as he becomes the three-eyed raven he's becoming detached from humanity, but the way he dismisses her bothered me nonetheless.
