First Series Seven Teaser Trailer From Convention!

Seeing Smith again, and Amy Pond, and Rory, was pretty neat. But other than that the trailer didn't do much for me.

I dunno, the Wild West setting doesn't do much for me, at least not when The Doctor is concerned.

A proper version of this will be released on Monday.

And unless they're in the Western episode it looks like the rumours that Spain would also be standing in for Skaro might be true.

Why wouldn't they be in the Western Episode? It's before their final episode

Bear in mind that Series 5 made good use of the Croatia filming trip by being the location for both Vampires of Venice and Vincent and the Doctor, so it's not impossible that they might have shot more than one episode (although I assume the Skaro bit is just wishful thinking unless there's been some huge script leak and Moffat plans to undo the Time War which makes any Skaro visit impossible).

That said, with the just announced New York episode, if they do 3 episodes out of country in one season, that might make some people grumble since they just spent all that taxpayer money on a studio in Cardiff...

I don't think (though I could be wrong) that Skaro wound up like Gallifrey, just that the Doctor destroyed it, which doesn't have to mean completely destroyed the planet.

For what it's worth there were rumours of the Spain trip and them shooting on those Western sets along with the Skaro rumour and two out three turned out to be correct. (The scene with the eyestalk (probe?) defintely wasn't shot in rainy Cardiff.)

The US shoot will almost certainly have been paid for by BBC America, as they did with the previous one.

Skaro was destroyed before the Time War. Seven destroyed Skaro in Remembrance of the Daleks.

So a visit to pre-ROTD Skaro is not impossible because it's not in the Time War timelock

Didn't the Supreme in Victory Of The Daleks say they were setting course for Skaro?

And yet, Paul McGann's narration at the beginning of the telemovie starts off "it was on the planet Skaro where my old enemy the Master was finally brought to justice."

I believe so, yes.

Ugh, more of that damn "Timey-Wimey" crap.

Not really. It just means the Doctor's totally crap when it comes to blowing up planets. He can frag Gallifrey and take out his own people, but when it comes to destroying his greatest enemies... :)

Offical HD version of the Trailer is out now at the BBC & BBC America sites. Confirms that Ben Browder is playing the Sheriff in the story not the 'Terminator', quickly debunks the idea that spread after the bootleg version that David Bradley is playing the 1st Doctor and features someone who looks enough like Alex Kingston (but I'm pretty sure isn't her) to provoke months of arguments!
