So if Clara does indeed return in her diner-TARDIS, I wonder if her companion Ashildr will still be with her -- or will Maisie be tied up with Game of Thrones at the time of filming?
"New Mutants" starts shooting soon so she'll be busy with that.

We've seen two rgeneration shots in the trailers- one of his hand going while reaching for what resembles a Time Lord message box from The War Games, and one of him standing flanked by two soldiers, which is from episode 8. So how an episode 8 regen would work when he's still starring in episodes 9-12 and Xmas would be an interesting one! If that was a real regeneration, that is.Uhm...are we 100% sure that the regeneration will take place in the Christmas Special and not in the series itself? Episode 12? Or even sooner? We saw the regeneration in the series trailer after episode 1 and then there is Capalids comment that the regeneration will be "different this time".

More likely you'd end up, in that context, with the Doctor starting to regenerate, then a four episode "how we got to this point." set of episodes.Well...how about having cake and eating it too? "Regeneration different this time" could mean: Regenerates in ep 8, new doctor in 9-12, and for xmax Capaldi..(rumor has it its "Day of the doctor" from 12s point of view).
Don´t forget the rule "Moffat et al lie".
Just because we are told he is in 9-12..that does not nessecarily mean that its true. It would be an interesting change NOT having the BBC reveal the new doc in advance...which could be done this way.
Or you could use a "frameing plot" type story...9-12 with "new doctor" flashing back to when he was still 12.

Meh.
Your avatar conveys that feeling even further.Ditto. "Meh" is about as strong an emotion that I could muster about this.
Heh, I had forgotten about that speculation. Considering what we got (both the metacrisis and then the later retroactive "It was a full regeneration after all"), the Jackson Lake theory would've been better.I'm having flashbacks to the week after "The Stolen Earth," when people were theorizing about how maybe this was a real regeneration, David Morrissey actually was the Eleventh Doctor, etc.
Moffat lies, but the BBC does not. Can not, it's actually specified in their charter. It's because of this that casting information is always released so far in advance. The BBC has said the regeneration will be in the Christmas special, so it will be in the Christmas special.Don´t forget the rule "Moffat et al lie".
