2.) Is it me or does Nero look really malevolent and psychotic in that shot? Oh, something tells me he's going to be a perfect villain!

Zach Quinto's Spock= Gold: He looks so much like Nimoy...wow. Chris Pine looks pretty good as Kirk too. I can see traces of Shatner's Kirk in his face.

It does look like Bana is wearing a bit of a forehead appliance -- look at the little "flap" by the bridge of his nose.

Yeah, it may just be the inclination of his head and the light, but that juncture of eyebrow and bridge of nose does look a bit reptilian.

However, the way Pine is posing in that shot is rather odd...why are they having him look villainous? And he does come off as villainous rather than simply "bad-ass."

I think it's less villainous than an air of "Yes, I'm James T. Kirk. I really am that awesome." Wouldn't quite be Kirk without that.

I hate to admit it but I have seen that movie. It's a lousy movie but Pine is quite good in it.

The bad thing is, after I get it from Netflix, they're going to bombard me with their recommendations: 'If you liked (that piece of shit), you're going to love (this other teen titty flick)!"

What do you people want out of Pine, a Nancy-boy? This is Kirk after he's just left the Farragut, all cocky and full of Piss and Vinegar! He's gotten that promotion to Starship Captain.

There aren't many of those around. He's one of the Few. Has a right to be cocky. Pine brings that across in the publicity still perfectly. Not villainous at all.

Who do you people want in command of the 1701 anyway? Gilligan?

I wondered if they'd go to those lengths. But Quinto's prosthetic earlobes are still my favorite little tidbit of overwrought attention to canon. Can't have Spock without those danglin' lobes!

We've heard that that Nimoy and Quinto share at least one scene together. Of course they'll use makeup tricks to make 'em match each other. Otherwise it would look like Spock's earlobes changed as he got older.

Similarly, Tom Hardy was given a prosthetic Patrick Stewart nose to play opposite Older Picard in "Nemesis".

I took away the color field on the Insignia image on the right side and made it all one color so they blended better in the background.
