First character images from Prodigy released on Twitter

Which fits with the story that these are kids who “commandeered” a derelict ship. Possibly not even from Federation worlds. Expecting them to wear uniforms would be Maximum Silly.
What’s with the avatar pic? I’ve seen a few variations of it here recently.

I look at the pic and I see generic sci-fi. If I did not see the title, I would not have associated this pic with Star Trek. Maybe I am wrong here, but wasn't the first animated Star Trek targeted for an younger base?

I love one of the comments on another site thinking they were the new Overwatch 2 characters. :)

Expecting them to use communicators is not, though, is it, and nor would it be unreasonable for them to use any equipment that could be salvaged from the ship itself, or perhaps more to the point replicated by it once it has been restored to working order. (Is the derelict a former Starfleet vessel? I don't know, but nor is the answer to that relevant to the significance of the observation about arrowheads/deltas; see below.)

The decision not to display the signature symbol associated with every iteration of Star Trek at this juncture has nothing to do with any in-universe rationale, whether it turns out to be plausible in terms of how the story unfolds or not, but instead everything to do with what audiences they want to attract. Clearly, the lack of the symbol implies that they intend this show to attract an audience comprised largely of viewers who are, how to put it, unencumbered by any familiarity with preexisting Star Trek.
