Finally, Endgame makes sense... part of it anyway

The biggest problem with Voyager is that the writers insisted on keeping the ship in the DQ for seven seasons and were not even sure on wether they would actually get back home or not.

IMO Voyager had to get home in the end, but I know a some people disagree with me.

I think that when a concept is tiring or not working as planned, it can be changed. Thus, Voyager could have returned home earlier and there would be thousands of plot lines left to be fixed from the Maquis to Seven of Nine to the Doctor, etc. Endgame was considered by many to be a big disappointment, especially in view of Janeway´s actions.

was it Icheb's virus that they used? I missed that

I don't think it was. It was a pathogen that was developed by a race to retaliate against the Borg as seen in the episode where Seven has multiple personalities surface within her.

To bring chaos to order, which the old Janeway specifically states.

Maybe it was a combo.

Combining the two creates a new virus unknown to the Borg.

That's why I like Engame. It shows everything we learned about the Borg from watching the series and using it all against them.

Better question...Earrly in the ep they said the future shuttle's cloaking technology couldn't be used on Voyager, but the ship was invisible as it shot a torpedo to destroy the Borg sphere...Huh?

Or am I missing something?

They weren't invisible to the Borg.

Voyager allowed itself to be caught and trackered into the sphere and then blew their way out as the entered the Alpha Quaderant.

Was that a pathogen? I thought those aliens tinkered with a vinculum (?) in order to flood the minds of the drones with random thoughts from the entire hive. The way I remember it, the vinculum is a device that connects to the implants in each borg's brain, coordinates everyone's efforts and suppresses individual thoughts. The sabotage was mechanical rather than biological.

I don't think Icheb carried a pathogen either. His DNA was altered so that when he was assimilated, he'd be a wrench thrown into the gears. Or was he altered so that he'd produce a pathogen after he was assimilated? I can't remember.

What was the point in that? Was it just so that we'd get that great explosion or was it easier to blow up the sphere from the inside?

I think it was also to make you think that they took the exit aperture that took them back to the Delta Quadrant

Because the Borg Queen had adapted the Borg to their sheilds. If the Sphere kepted firing on Voyager, they would have gotten thru. Voyager's best bet was to bluff them. By allowing the ship to be captured, they'd no longer be fired upon thus saving the ship & crew.

However, the Borg didn't asslimlate the knowledge to the torpedos yet. So Voyager shot their way out, destroying the Sphere and getting them home.

BTW, Icheb's DNA was altered from birth to create the pathogen. He creates in naturally all the time. The Doc. found a way to turn it off but his body will always create it.

Plus it helps give some plot to Elite Force II, great game.

I enjoyed the first one, never got around to playing part 2.

the first one was realy good, and the second one had a longer story, more cool features, but it wasn't realy about Voyager

^ You're right.
EF1 was set in the Void during Voyager's seven year run. The first time we meet the Borg in the game is in a holodeck scenario, the second time is on the stranded cube. EF2 is set after Nemesis.
