Film scores you like

Oh, and Michael Nyman's Piano Concerto, which was assembled out of his music for The Piano.
You know, I had a roommate in college who had that soundtrack. I always found that concerto disconcerting, because none of the tracks on the score seemed to finish. I'd be interested to hear that completed concerto to see if I still find it as unsettling.

I own quite a few scores, but I don't listen to them very much. A few that I really enjoy when I do listen to them:

Unbreakable
Gettysburg
Medicine Man
Tea with Mussolini
The Time Machine
Star Trek 2009
Star Trek Insurrection
Star Wars Attack of the Clones

Which Time Machine? I'd recommend the music for the recent film even if one is disinclined to see the movie itself.

Yes, the modern, Klaus Badelt version is the one I was referring to. It's really quite gorgeous. I remember watching the movie and thinking that I HAD to get the score.

^Same here. :) It's also pleasantly eclectic.

For anyone who hasn't already heard of them, I recommend filmtracks.com as a site to read up on soundtrack reviews. Even if you don't agree with the reviewer you have to respect his knowledge of the material.
