Feline Follies

Junior has suddenly decided that the space under my desk is the place to be.

Such a pretty kitty!

Ever have your cat hide somewhere in the house and not be able to find him or her? A couple of days ago our cat really scared me. Couldn't find her anywhere. She is indoor only so thought somehow she had gotten out. And she was not wearing her harness with her I.D. on it. So she was so soundless and could go without me hearing her. For 1/2 hour we looked. Then finally at the head of our waterbed on the floor she had squeezed herself in the narrow space between the wall and bed. She finally meowed and we thought she was stuck. She is not a small cat! But she did get out! She had never hid there before. Now have to close all the doors. I wonder if she is doing this because Spring is in the air? So have any of your cats ever done that?

My cat has done that in more than one occasion. We had to put a little bell on her collar.

I put a bell on my black cat guy back when he was around. -- he hated it he could not catch the birds or squirrels anymore... but - that was why I put the bell on so he would not be able to get the other animals he made a big protest but was ok in the end..--

Junior's favorite spot is under the couch. It' s a recliner sofa, so the back has Velcro flaps in order to access the mechanism. It's just big enough for him to shimmy his giant fluffy butt under there. It took me awhile to figure out that was his hiding spot so now, when we have to put him in his carrier, hubby stands in front of the couch like a hockey-goalie in order to block his escape route.
