So, this morning, one of our cats was in the living room window making chittering noises, only louder and with some other weird noises mixed in. One of the other cats was going back and forth between dinning room and living room windows looking completely freaked out. I went over and peeked out to see what the heck had them so agitated. I figured our neighborhood cardinal was back. He loves to sit on the window sill and tap the glass just to torment the cats. But nope, it wasn't him. Yes, it was a bird. There was a owl sitting in the maple tree next door. And not a tiny barn owl, either. This guy was big; not something I want my cats playing with.

Yeah, that’s a bird encounter that might go better for the bird than the cat.

Good. My cat has a shelf that we attached to the window sill. Got a plastic bird feeder to attach to the window with suction cups. She has hours of fun watching the birds (and squirrels).

^ I had one of those for years. The window seat is still there (beat to crap, of course) but, the bird feeder didn't last as long.
