Ok, she's kind of a butterface, but I think Hillary Swank kicks ass as an actress. Million Dollar Baby just blew me away.

I've always liked Alyson Hannigan. I love her on How I Met Your Mother and loved her on Buffy, before she became Uber-Powerful Lesbian Willow.

I adore Tina Fey.

These days, it's really hard to find the kind of talent these ladies had. Meryl Streep comes the closest, and Emma Thompson is really good too.

But Barbara Stanwyck and Bette Davis were two of the most versatile actresses who ever hit the screen. And I think it's impossible to not love Mryna Loy - especially when teamed with William Powell or Cary Grant...but any other time as well. Perfect comedic timing, but a talented dramatic actress as well.

But Barbara Stanwyck and Bette Davis were two of the most versatile actresses who ever hit the screen.

I was debating which of those two I should list as #3...it was a toss-up, really. Actresses with that kind of powerful screen presence are rare nowadays, probably because movies are geared towards adolescent boys and all the good female roles are on TV now, which is why the likes of Christine Rose, Mary McDonnell and Fionnulla Flanigan can be found there instead of on the big screen.
