Farscape - anything I need to know?

the change in narration and music seems to indicate a change in Crichton's view of where 'home' is . . . he's no longer lost in space because Moya is his home

Exactly. He even says: "or should I stay and protect my home?"

Ah, but by staying on Moya, or better, by not returning to earth, he protects earth from the Peacekeepers and Scarrans. So didn't he mean earth by home, not Moya? It's interpretable in multiple ways, but I think I always assumed the earth=home angle.

Thanks for the different pov!

I agree with your interpretation, especially given the following line..."Or should I stay, protect my home, not show them you exist"...which I always interpreted as meaning he needed to keep Earth's identity a secret from the PKs and Scarrens.

in Fractures (I think that's the episode) why didn't Crichton listen to all of Stark's message? Pilot interrupted and that was it . . .

Do you mean the message in Stark's mask? That's the only message I recall from the episode, and I distinctly remember him listening to all of it. Right down to playing rock-paper-scissors with his holographic self.

Yep, that's the message. He begins to listen to it, then Pilot cuts him off. And then at the end of the episode he finishes it.

I am watching season 2 now. I like it, but i am not a fan yet. I´ve just watched Out of their Minds, which was really entertaining. In some of these episodes i feel the characters shout too much and stories are sometimes silly, like the Trial on Dream a little Dream, the Budong story, the magic in Picture if you Will and That Old Black Magic, Taking the stone (ugh!), etc...

I know that comparing them is not fair, but Galactica has changed the way i watch sci fi now, and i dont know if i can take these shows as seriously as i did before.

Farscape was always about the characters for me. The plots and stories were often very silly and in some cases not terribly well-written, but John and Aeryn's relationship remains my favorite TV romance of all time. The characters made that show as awesome as it is.

okay, yeah . . . it didn't quite click with me

definitely a fantastic show, and it's like apples and oranges
Farscape is in my Top 5 definitely. right up there with BSG and TNG and others

You know, I probably watched that episode 5 or 6 times before I realized those were the same message.

Great series, one of the best

but skip PKwars and make up your own ending

I thought Peacekeeper Wars was an excellent finale! I don't even see how it can be up for debate if you liked the rest of the show. I'm genuinely interested in what you thought was wrong with it.

Peacekeeper Wars was a great ending! :bolian:

Hey, you're the same guy who keeps telling us BSG is the worst series of all time, right? (We should have some sort of "credibility tagging" feature around here to remind us whose opinions we have already identified as whack. It would really streamline things.)
