Fargo Season 3 premieres April 19th

Damn, I'm sorry Ray died, especially since it was completely avoidable. Not just the silly "you take it" "no, you take it" bickering and pulling the glass out, but also Ray refusing to accept Emmit's olive branch. I actually thought they were going to make up and team up against Varga, which made his death all the more surprising. One thing did bother me: Considering his genuine contrition and telling Ray not to take out the glass, why didn't Emmit try to stop the bleeding?

Ew. I hate when they do close ups of someone's mouth as they eat a sandwich. Ugh. And I had to look away when Varga had that metal stick inside his teeth. The show is really grossing me out this season.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who is continuously grossed out by this season. I keep having to look away especially with Varga.

It was a carated artery cut on the left side, right out of the aorta. Looked severed clean through. Without immediate medical treatment within minutes, it was a guaranteed bleed-out. Nothing Emmit could have done. Did he actually know that? Unsure. But the strength and distance of the blood spray was a pretty good indicator of the severity of the situation.

Cuts exactly there are the go-to injury for signaling a TV/movie audience a person is going to die.

I think Ray's death seemed a bit contrived, like if they were going to have him accidentally killed they could have staged it to seem like the mortal injury was more likely from what happened.

My wife and I binged all the episodes so far yesterday.

I really like this one so far, even though it is, without a doubt, disgusting. Periods and vomiting...and of course, drinking VM's piss out of his World's Best Dad mug! :barf::lol:

I keep trying to figure out what Nikki's angle is. She agreed to marry him, but when he said "I love you" she didn't say it back. I'm pretty sure she is/was working on something. More than bridge, I mean.

The two cops are pretty cool, how they're piecing it all together. Last we saw Gloria is heading back to Ray's house, not knowing what has happened.

Good stuff!

Thankfully no gross out moments this week. Gloria's new boss is still a dick. And who was that sitting next to Nikki on the prison transport bus? Why it's Mr. Wrench from the first season.

Wow, didn't even recognize him, interesting tie in.

I'm a little confused why they still want Nikki dead so bad. Her getting assassinated in a heavily orchestrated way is the only case where the cops stop thinking that she murdered Ray.

Also I'm believing less and less how dense the new Captain continues to be. Like "We can't close the beach on the holiday season" level dense.

Yeah, as much as I like Shea Whigham, I'm getting fed up with Dammick's suffering from the Dunning–Kruger effect.

Nice catch about Mr. Wrench. I thought he looked familiar but I just figured he looked like Yuri. I feel like I've largely forgotten the details of season 1.

For all of Varga's vileness, I wanted to kick him in his nasty teeth during the cold opening when he was opening up all of the Christmas presents. And yet, they were all wrapped up again when Emmit returned home. Weird moment.

If he only knew about The Stamp he wouldn't have wasted time with the presents. I think The Stamp is just a Macguffin. Or is it?

I thought the unwrapping happened later, how and why would he rewrap them so neatly? Ok, that season one tie-in went over my head, I seem to only remember the broad strokes of S1.

I wasn't sure until the Numbers and Wrench theme song started playing, that drum is very distinctive.

Mashman, like Gus Grimley in S1, is another cop that is easily intimidated into running away.

Every character this year who isn't a gang leader or female cop is a complete moron.

Emmitt basically did the equivalent of this:
"That woman's dress looks nice."
"I DIDN'T SLEEP WITH HER!"

Only about murder, to a cop.

That seems to be the go-to formula in most of the Fargo series, going back to the original movie. Not a very good perception of Minnesotans and Dakotans. My wife has lots of family up there and not a single one of them are as dumb as a bag of hammers like these people are. Further, I've met no one who talks like they do in the show with all the "aw, geeeeze" and "oh, yah?" nonsense.

Despite what the show claims about being a true story, the whole thing is just a made up bunch of nonsense for entertainment. A lot of people like to laugh at others that they want to think are dumb. Dumb crosses all political, gender, and many other whatever the word is I'm trying to think of, oh geez! Many many years ago there were Little Moron jokes and then Pollock jokes and now Fargo, don'cha know.

Sarah Palin grew up in Alaska, but has that same "midwest nice" manner of speaking. Her parents were from Idaho, so maybe that explains it.

The original movie was stitched together from details of real world incidents but the series is just snowy Noir.

The Telltale Stamp

That last episode was bizarre-- fascinating, but bizarre.

So Ray Wise is playing some sort of angel or something?

The chase through the forest was riveting .

So much crazy, I loved all of it! And Ray Wise as some kind of... something, in a bowling alley... awesome.
