Fantastic Four reboot-- Casting, Rumors, Pix, ect;

The Gray Hulk in Las Vegas, wearing a 3 thousand dollar suit, as a leg breaker for the mob.

It would be interesting to see a Ruffalo-toplined Hulk solo movie. I think the response to his take on Banner has been much more favourable than to Norton or Bana.

He's "with" Nat, but is he married to Betty?

That could be some interesting friction between action sequences, if the two women in "their" life square off.

I'm re-watching FF: World's Greatest Heroes the 26 episode 2006 animated series. I think this is the best tv/movie interpretation of the FF so far. It's got the sense of humor without being too childish.

I didn't like WGH too much -- I particularly hated its infantile and brainless version of Johnny, although its Sue was pretty impressive. Still, the other FF cartoons I remember seeing were all pretty lame. So maybe it's the best in the sense of being the least bad. (Well, the '90s syndicated series was utterly horrible in its first season, but got halfway decent in the second.)

IIRC, my thoughts were that the last half was better than the first half. It had a tonal shift around ep12/13. The first half felt more like bottle shows and the later half had a loose through line.

I wish we had gotten a second season of the short lived Fox Silver Surfer cartoon from the late 90's. That was good and would be nice to find on DVD one day.

After all the kerfuffle of Josh Trank saying that the movie has been drastically altered from what he intended, I wonder if, 10-15 years from now, we'll ever get to see a special director's cut DVD of it like we did of David Fincher's workprint of Alien 3?

^That may depend on whether Trank, like Fincher, has a successful career. Or whether anyone ever manages to get a successful Fantastic Four film franchise going to promote interest in such minutiae.

Josh should have a personal copy of his version of the movie if he's an adult.

Childlike faith in billionaires not shooting you into space the first moment you forget to call one of them "master" is for touched idiots.

So you mean that there's still a gruesome possibility that Kate Mara will have to wear this with a straight face?

I think it's unlikely. Maybe 'unofficially'.

I doubt very much that it would be an improvement on the released version.

It won't change the fact that up until they get their powers the film is pretty much his version and that stuff's no good either.

Part of the complaints are that Fox cut scenes that would be too expensive to film. You can't have a director's cut unless they have the footage to make it.

That was in the beginning.

Josh presented a 2 hour 20 minute version of the movie to FOX, despite that they had asked for a one hour 20 minute movie, and all their millions and millions of dollars in distribution contracts were geared around selling a 1 hour 20 minute movie... Which is when Fox Shat a brick and stepped in.

They cut his movie in half and then gave it a new 20 minutes at the end.

There's at least an hour that Josh considered that should have been in the final cut on the cutting room floor.

I don't know about that. It sounded to me like they didn't have enough usable footage to make a coherent movie and that's why they had to do reshoots to cobble something together.

They didn't. Trank didn't even have an ending shot when he was more or less removed from the film. That's probably why the ending felt so rushed and rather nonsensical.

Trank didn't do a part 4 of Kevin Smith's Fatman on Batman podcast. When Smith contacted him (post FF-opening and admitting he understood why Trank might not want to do it) Trank replied "Wouldn't it be funny if we did a part 4 and acted like nothing happened and I still had Star Wars?". :)
