Fall Anime 2010

Because noitinimA took a break this weak, I still can't come to any conclusions about Kuragehime. But the shows I mentioned earlier are my keepers. Everything I'm watching just because.

So the rundown is:

Bleach- Currently awesome
Hakuoki II- Pretty good sequel thus far
Iron Man- Interesting but assassinating Tony Stark's character
The Legend of Legendary Heroes- Still going, still good
Naruto Shippuden- Currently in flashback hell and sucking.
Psychic Detective Yakumo- Very interesting
Shiki- Still going and getting better
Sora no Otoshimono: Forte- Same old
Soredomo Machi wa Mawattieru- This is cute and quirky I like
Stardriver- So far it's just "okay"
To Aru Majutsu no Index II- Highly entertaining
Togainu no Chi- Might be dropping depending how much shounen Ai there is
The World God Only Knows- This is good for some laughs, not bad

Gawd, i need to get caught up on Naruto.... I am stuck int he bubble boy arc and haven't made past it since I attempted three times already....

It was really awesome for a while after that arc but now it's descended into flashback filler hell and is so damn boring. :scream:

Star Driver is not worth watching at all.

Is there anything worth watching? :wtf:

I would say Hourou Musuko is probably the only show absolutely worth watching this season. Kimi ni Todoke if you liked the first season. Otherwise, everything else is kind of iffy sadly.

Next season doesn't look to be all that great either...

Could you elaborate? I've heard differently from a lot of people...

Not that it's incredible, but if you liked Code Geass and its ridiculous flashiness and melodrama that the show might be a fun watch.

They're making another Ki-ni-to? I thought they were opting for live action?
Yeah, it started already. It continues where the first season left off.

And the live action thing was just a movie, which I haven't read much about to be honest.

I only stuck around for 5 episodes, but it is basically a very shallow Utena rip-off, but where nothing happens. I guess it's appropriately flashy, but there's not much else there.

Wasn't sure if it was worth making a Winter thread... but anyone watching anything this season?
Level E and Infinite Stratos. Both start off a little slow with their first episodes, but IS is looking like it's going to be a decent show, nothing too remarkable but it does have some solid characters and action. Level E is way better, but with a bit more quirkiness that can be a bit irritating at times. Both are surprisingly devoid of the usual Japanese quirks that can annoy/alienate Western viewers, like excessive fanservice, but it's still early in their runs and things could change.

There's a creepy as fuck puppet scene in Level E episode 1, so if you hate puppets, avoid the nightmare fuel.

Infinite Stratos is my guilty pleasure "I hate myself" show this season, because it looks like a typical harem show where everyone immediately falls in love with the guy simply because he's a guy.

Not really. The female lead has backstory ties to the male lead (as does another potential love interest) and the rest crush on him thanks to his insane skills and the fact that he's not a massive asshole. Seriously, the guy was pulling off some pretty damn impressive moves in the episode 2 battle, especially when you consider the fact that that was only the second time he actually piloted one of those things and he got it five minutes before the match started.

If the preview is any indication, they're giving him yet another childhood friend to lust after him. I'm sure there's more to come.

I don't mind, because complaining about harem shows is like saying there are too many murders in the CSI franchise or too many aliens in Star Trek.

What's going there? Please tell me it isn't rape.

No, no. At least... not yet. The way things are going I wouldn't be surprised though.

<--- My face at the end of episode three.

Obviously it wasn't going to be all sparkly wands and determination saving the day, but I didn't think it'd be quite this grim. Not sure if want, I believe the saying goes.

Boop. Rather than make another thread, I figure I'd just bump this one since the Spring season just started.

Any of you guys still watching anime at all? So far, it looks like the Spring season only has one good show to watch: Hanasaku Iroha.

i'm so behind, I just today finished full metal alchemist brotherhood and I'm half way through Lucky Star

I still watch pretty much really old or moderately old anime. Just finished GitS: SAC the other day and am working through the original Gundam series again.
