Facebook trekkies?

I certainly have a few more now :)

I've had a fair few requests since joining the chat room thingy.

No offence is meant in my not accepting any of them, but I have a policy of not "friend collecting" and I don't add people I've not met.

I'm getting a few random requests since joining the Trek FB Chat group; I'm assuming they're from there anyway. Probably a good idea to identify yourself as a Trek NERD when requesting "friendship."

Exactly. Or identify yourself by your BBS user name as well. There is a thread in the TrekBBS page on FB in which many are giving their BBS user name, but it would help to evaluate the friend request if you just give the user name with the friend request.

I can be found here. I'll post the same request as everyone else- if you add me, please identify yourself. I'll probably accept either way, but if I have a username to go with the real person, it'll probably shorten your stay in "friendship limbo".

And, I apologize now to anyone who has added me previously and to anyone who might consider it.

I've gotten a few more friend requests in the past couple of days- please, please identify yourself by your TrekBBS name!

I figured mine was self explanatory, but I'll be sure to do so from now on. :D

Course having said the above I'm largely indiscriminate so I've been automatically approving anyway...

Is there a way to have the same Facebook account, but keep things separated, like what happens in real life and what happens here. The thing is and the reason I'm hesitant to post my facebook page is that that has been mainly for friends I've met in real life, and I don't want them to know I post here. On the same end though, I've posted here for such a long time that it would be awesome to connect on facebook.

Of course I can probably create another Facebook account, but like here, that might be frowned upon there. Basically, is there a way to keep internet and real life separate for the time being, at least until I meet you guys in real life?

If you want to keep it totally separate, you probably just need another account. I have different settings for different friends, and you can limit what people can see (or respond to), but if you want to keep it completely separate then there's no other way to do it.

Well, I just checked, and it's a violation of their terms of use to get another facebook account. How do I set it up to have different settings for different friends. I've just been looking at it and have an idea, but are there easy ways to do it. I guess what I'm thinking is the whole News feed thing. If someone I know in real life comes and sees my profile and it says "posted ............. on ........... wall", that's not exactly what I want.

Mr Ingram has done a fabulous job of putting names to TBBS names, if you're on the site you should have it. Thanks TM :)

Yeah ~ you need to have, or be a teenager to be able to do that. If you are ~ I apologise :)

I would offer to friend all of you but I am really annoying. Between my complaining about the stupidity running rampant in my family at the moment or the political rants, it is a miracle I have any friends left. I am occasionally funny though... occasionally.

You forgot your job. Those are the best complaints of all.:techman:

However, you sell yourself short. You are ALWAYS funny. Even the complaints are funny (in fact, ESPECIALLY the complaints are funny!). It's part of your charm. ;)

Oh my... :alienblush: Thanks!
