Exploring characters' past and/or future

We did have Miranda Kadohata in the TNG Relaunch, and I think she left the Enterprise shortly after Destiny to work closer to her family.

Right, and another character I remembered after posting this question was David Gold of the da Vinci (although all of his children (and most of his grandchildren) are grown up by the time we get to see him). But as I was writing it, I was thinking about characters such as Kirk (who was for all intents and purposes an absentee father), Picard (who was childless for almost 50 years while serving as Captain of the Starzager and two Enterprises before finally starting a family), Sisko (who was raising his son as a single father on a starbase rather than a starship), and Janeway and Archer (neither of whom have any children...yet). We do hear a little about how Geordi was raised the child of two Starfleet officers (his father is a science officer who took more ground and starbase postings than shipboard ones, while his mother was a command officer and it was implied that at least one of them was home while the other was on a ship), and these days we have Tom Paris and B'Elanna raising their children on Voyager, Riker and Troi are raising Tasha on Titan, and Picard and Crusher raising Rene on the Enterprise, but with Owen Paris in particular, I'm curious how not having his family with him affects him and his career.

Yeah, I deliberately conceived both Miranda Kadohata and David Gold as officers with families back home because that dynamic was so rarely explored in onscreen Trek.

And I thank you for creating them as they were both interesting; while I was disappointed to see Kadohata transfer off the Enterprise after Destiny (I actually liked her and her interactions with the rest of the Enterprise crew), I admit that I don't really miss her because the other Relaunch characters pretty much all work well enough for me.

So how about you, @KRAD, which character would you like to see explored or at least revisited at either an earlier or later point in their career? Maybe one of your SCE or Gorkon characters in 2386, or somebody's backstory?

So here I am again reviving another old thread with a very similar question: which character (and I think I'll try to stick to the Relaunch lit-verse, rather than going anywhere near Star Trek: Picard or another TV series by asking what Geordi, Worf, or Chief O'Brien is up to in Picard, as it's likely that eventually they'll show or tell us!) that you haven't seen in a while would you like to see in the "present" (c. 2386-2387, for TNG/DS9/VOY (although they've got one more book on the way before they wrap up their storyline)/Titan/SCE/Gorkon/Klingon Empire, since "Collateral Damage"); if using a character from TOS/23rd century SCE/VAN/Seekers, let's see what their up to by the 2280s-2300s, The Lost Era characters by either TNG or forward to the 2380s if they're still around, or any ENT characters post-Rise of the Federation.

Please not that this is not intended to count as either story ideas, nor that any author should be bound/constrained to any such ideas at any point in time should they get the opportunity to write for these characters - these are merely hypothetical musings on "where they are now".
  • Songmin Wong: Like I said at the very beginning of this thread, I think he's no longer the Helmsman of the U.S.S. da Vinci - after 10+-years, hopefully he's gotten a promotion to another billet, but I think it's more likely he's retired/resigned from Starfleet and now makes a living as a private shipmaster.
  • Prynn Tenmei: Last seen during Star Trek: The Fall as an O-3 Lieutenant still assigned to the U.S.S. Defiant as the Helmsman, hopefully she's received a promotion along with possible reassignment in the last couple of years.
  • Dr. B'Oraq: Either one of the few crewmembers of the I.K.S. Gorkon to remain with the ship for more than 10 years, or back on the homeworld rising through the ranks of the Klingon's medical services (military, civilian, or both!).
  • Barry Giotto: As the Enterprise's Chief of Security for the five-year mission, he either retired or was reassigned to another position in the early 2270s.
  • Leslie Parrish: Last seen transferring off Enterprise to serve as a Starfleet Security training officer on Earth (while pregnant with Ens. Jon Anderson/Kell, son of Gorkon's child). What was it like for her to be the mother of the first known Human/Klingon hybrid, especially in the 2260s? What was it like for the child?
  • Mahmud al-Khaled: I know he went from captaining the U.S.S. Aephas (as seen in Seekers #4) circa 2269, to serving as the first SCE Command Liaison in 2280 (and he fathered a child born around 2275), but is that as far as he went in his career?
Anyways, that's just getting started. Feel free to chime in; thanks.

I would love to see what's become of Miranda Kadohata since she left the Enterprise after Destiny.
