Exclusive "The End of Time part 2" clip (spoilers!)

In both the trailers we see the Doctor in a white-glowing room together with the Lord President (and possibly the Master). Any ideas what that might be?
Makes me think we're not in for a reboot but that something decisive happens in that realm which might be out of time.
The room with the glass dome is also interesting, is it on Gallifrey? It also seems that the Doctor gets battered considerably, judging by his bruised face in the first trailer and the blood on his face in the second one. Poor guy. :(

it is the skylight in the richguys room where the "planet healer" located.

Naismith's mansion with the Immortality Gate. I thought I saw the Doctor kneeling or on the ground surrounded by Time Lords as I saw a red robe on the ground behind him. I don't think we're going to get any kind of reboot. I think we're going to get a final conclusion on the Time War and maybe even some kind of Time Lord Council judgment on the Doctor leading to his regeneration.

OMG! Does anyone else think Wilf looks a bit silly doing an impression of Luke Skywalker in A New Hope?

Wilf: I got one, I got one!!!
The Doctor: Great Shot kid, don't get Pen__y

(to steal from family guy)

I like the opening music of the establishing shot on Galifrey, it is very "Empire Strikes Back" kind of music.

Also, has anyone noticed how the Time Lords' Capitol looks completely different from how it looked in the classic series?

It looked different every week in classic series, too: mysterious and strange in The War Games, dark and dusty in The Deadly Assassin, a lot of brickwork in The Invasion of Time, cheap and overlit in Arc of Infinity and The Five Doctors...

Here's the question that hasn't been asked:

What kind of Whoniverse does Steven Moffat want to inherit? Does he want to continue down the paths set by RTD, or does he have something else in mind? Maybe he wants certain things to go in a different direction. This would be the very best point to make those changes.
I feel like he once said that killing off the Time Lords was the best thing Davies ever did, but maybe he now thinks as much has been done with that concept as could be done. Bringing them back as baddies and then killing them off again could be a way to remove the Doctor's angst over them, though.

And Steve Mollman, you aren't fooling anyone! Steve the Mole man! Steven M!

Reveal yourself!

:D
I made everyone think combining my three previous episodes into one was brilliant with "Silence in the Library", so this time around I'll just start ripping off episodes of Coupling.

:borg:

All this talk of reset predictions is irritating. Do people really just expect such pathetic writing now?

I thought the same thing in the Part 1 discussion thread

Part 2

Wilf manning a gunner position?

Wilf- I got one!

The Doctor- Great Kid! don't get cocky!

The part where Wilf is crying "I don't want to die" is already emotionally draining.

A reset does not always mean pathetic writing now and again it works because you get to see a kick ass huge story that can be whatever it wants without changing the show so much you lose what you had before it. In this case I believe something of a reboot lite might occur but I don't think it will be as clean as we have been predicting because it would cause more problems than it solves.

Am sticking with The End of time means The end of the time war/time locked. I believe the time lords are reliving the final day of the time war over and over again because of the women in that clip talking about how time brings people back just to kill them off again in new ways. I believe the Time lords will return causing the future to change and maybe even the present but the past 4 years will somehow survive.

Doesn't he actually say, "I don't want you to die."? That's what I heard there, but I agree it's very emotional, especially with the Doctor's expression. Did I mention recently how great an actor David Tennant is?
By the way, do the Timelords shout "Gallifrey Oasis!" in that second trailer? That would explain a few points.

I heard a very interesting rumor of who that women is contacting Wilf...
The Doctor's mother

I don't see it but would be a twist.

And the explosion of glass that comes after Wilf says he doesn't want the Doctor to die would explain why 10's clothes looked so shredded on 11 in those set photos we've seen from 11's first episode...the shot where the Doc is on the ground and his face is bleeding shows the shredded clothes too...

Davies' finales have always followed a formula: Introduce an enemy by the thousands / millions / billions / trillions / hojillions, and have the enemy and everything that's happened wiped away at the resolution through some manner of magic hand-waving. The manner of hand-waving simply depends on the particular episode.

So, yes, I fully expect the Time Lords to raise holy hell upon Earth, only for them to agree to return it to the way it was and return to Gallifrey, in exchange for the Doctor's current incarnation -- costing him a regeneration -- to exact a measure of revenge for Gallifrey burning in the Time War. That sort of self-sacrifice would fall in with the "Caves of Androzani" theme that both Davies and Tennant have said exists in the story.

It'd be perfect for Davies' finale. The Time Lords are back, the Time War is somehow undone, and he gets to combine the endings of "The War Games" and "The Caves of Androzani." And legions of teenage girls across England will weep when their sex god Tennant must make the ultimate sacrifice for all.

"Forgive them, Rassilon, for they know not what they do."

That was the role she was announced as playing when her casting was announced over the summer.
