Excessive Criticism of "STAR TREK VOYAGER"

Maybe they used the replicators to manufacture all the torpedoes and shuttlecrafts.
If that was the case, then why did so many episodes babble on about replicator rations for food and other necessities? Hahaha

I like VOY, but it is funny to point out all the rules the writers and producers (Jeri Taylor, Michael Piller, Kenneth Biller and Brannonn Braga) imposed on VOY, only to ignore/contradict them later when the plot or story necessitated something happen a certain way.

Looks like their energy supply is erratic. Sometimes they have so much of it that they can splurge to their heart content. Sometimes they have to ration their food.

^ And holodeck system was totally incompatible with the rest of the ship, because TPTW (Taylor, Piller and Braga) wanted to still do holodeck episodes.

And that's total bullshit. As anybody with only a few basic notions of science knows, you can convert any energy into any other. There's no such thing as "totally incompatible" when it comes to the conversion of energy.

When I watched the show years ago, it was my personal interpretation that they had to ration all this other stuff to keep the energy for the industrial replicators to make the components to build new shuttles, etc.

If they had industrial replicators to build to make components to build new shuttles etc.. then they had a way to replace their photon torpedeos we are told they can't replace them therefore no industrial replicators where onboard. If they could build industrial replicators using the what they had onbaord parts/replicators etc.. then they would have a way to repalce them therfore the replicators can't make the necessary componets to make industiral replicators.

And that, to me, it's the real big problem with VOY. Inconsistency. I hated how the Doctor had a huge mental breakdown that degraded his program, and at the end of the show it was implied it was going to take time for him to find peace with his actions. One week later...... It's not that hard to adjust a script with a few lines and make things more consistent like that. So yeah, it's a shame they never put any real effort into things like that over the entire show's run.

Does anyone know how many bio-neural gel packs they lost? That was another thing that was supposed to be impossible to replace when they ran out.

And even if you couldn't for some crazy-ass techno-bull reason, where does the power for the holodecks come from in the first place?

Exactly what?

PARIS: Engine efficiency's down another fourteen percent. If we don't get more power to the warp drive, we're all going to have to get out and push.
JANEWAY: What about alternative energy sources? Ensign Kim, have you had any luck getting power from the holodeck reactors?
KIM: Not yet. We tried hooking them to the power grid and we ended up blowing out half the relays. The holodeck's energy matrix, it just isn't compatible with the other power systems.

Voy Parallax S01e03.

What do the reactors run on? Why are they independent? Why don't the crew use the holodeck replicators for food instead of dicking around?

Maybe the reactors were running on batteries of enormous capacity!!! And these batteries were rigged to self destruct if they were used for anything else than the holodecks:lol:.
