Excelsior-class and Refit Deflector Dish

I was wondering if anyone here knew if the deflector dish on the Excelsior-class refit is actually smaller than on the standard version of the ship? Looking at images from the films and the model of the refit I get the impression that it's smaller, but that could just be an optical illusion on my part.

As far as I know its not been modefied in any way, the extra "cheeks" they added to the refit might give the illusion that its a bit smaller.

Judging from the front views I'm under the impression they're the same size.
