This version is slightly cropped, I think the smaller version has slightly more on the right side, were there is a second fighter thing. EDIT: or not, actually it just looks weird blown up. I think I see 3 fighters now.

Oh, and: the ship is being attacked by fighters. STAR WARS.

Awesome.

Cool.

COOOOOOOOOOOOL.

Least we now get a look at the general aesthetic of the Starfleet ship design.

Looks cool.

Now is that a deflector on the bottom pod and nacelle up top or vise-versa

Interesting. Looks like the faintest hint of a deflector underneath. Not too fond of that nacelle, though. Unless, of course, they're reversed.

But why is the 4-digit registry starting with a "0"?

Why not?

I think the warp nacelle (single?), and the engineering hull are reversed (with the blue deflector dish on top) . I can see where they're coming from with this layout, and I somewhat like it, but it still seems a little awkward to me.

Am I the only one who thinks that deflector dish or nacelle or whatever on the top looks WAY too much like an eye. CYCLOPS SHIP!

I'm confused. What does this have to do with Star Trek???
I can't get to the TrekMovie article right now (database problems) but see the TrekToday article referencing it here. The Kelvin is one of several ships which were stated earlier this year to be appearing in the movie. It's been speculated that the Kelvin may be commanded by Captain Robau (Faran Tahir) or that Kirk's father may serve aboard.

That nacelle doesn't looked centred to me - like it's slightly off to the right? maybe the left nacelle has been blown off and that's what the mission is about? saving the stranded Kelvin?

Awesome.

Maybe they're torpedoes.

The blue thing is the deflector, the red thing just poking through at the bottom is the nacelle. I think it looks pretty good!

If this is an indication of how the NCC-1701 will look, then I think it will look closer to TOS that the teaser trailer led us to believe.

The suacer, engineering hull, and delfector dish of the Kelvin look very TOS-like (or at least TMP-like)

It looks like the edge of the saucer section is canted the opposite angle from what we've had in the past. I wonder if the ship, apparently in battle, is in a roll and we are seeing the ventral side. That's more in keeping with tradion (nacelles above and deflector dish below the saucer).

Doesn't make any sense... The name and the registry would be totally unreadable/mirrored.

Remember the AICN story a few months back about footage seen of a ship with "over and under" nacelles? If it's the Kelvin here, then that apparently gives it blue and red bussard collectors, possibly indicating a system where each "collector" is doing a different part of the job. Maybe one is ionizing gas and the other is drawing it in (sort of a field loop around the saucer hull between something like two magnetic poles, which could also provide some radiation shielding).

On the other hand, the deflector dish may just be planted on or ahead of a ventral nacelle. The blue "eye" on top just looks like a spooled up and running version of the turbine collectors seen on the trailer 1701.
