Evicted from Earth

Crewman47

Commodore
Newbie
I'm bored at work so I just started thinking, what would happen if a superior alien confederation or race decided that they've had enough of how we treat the Earth and decided to evict us? Say they provide the resources for this to be possible and a time limit of 6 months would we and could we do it without resistance? Also lets say that the alternative would be complete anihilation of all life on Earth.

Pretty much your typical Day the Earth stood still story.

Since we will have been given the resources to accomplish this with a do or die directive, I would sign up for this. Just give me a small mining ship, and I will go mine the asteroid belt to help supply the human starbase orbiting Mars. Although I suppose I could start with Mars' moons Deimos and Phobos before heading deeper into the belt.

So, do we get FTL drives or do we hop about via pre-made stargates like in Babylon 5?

Earthicans?
I've always preferred the word "Terrans" myself.

I'll second that!

And as for the OT it seems to me that it would be impossible to evict every human being from earth as most would want to stay and would resist our removal(with disastrous consequences) along with the simple fact that Humanity would never agree on one course of action.

So it's probably death for us all unless this aliens decide to occupy Earth, at which point the Troubles really start...

Well, if "evicted" means getting my own mobile space habitat and being able to tool around the Cosmos, I'd go for it.

I'd go peacefully and quietly, no trouble, no fuss. I'M GONNA BE A SPACEMANONAUT!!!

Plus, those hewmons who choose to leave also can go about rethinking how we lived on Earth - war, famine, disease, poverty; they can take steps to make sure that doesn't happen again.

If we're looking for a new planet to settle on and we suddenly come across a ragtag fleet of 40,000ish human refugees travelling in the other direction trying to find Earth, the irony will not be lost on me :shifty:
