Eureka: Final Season (Discussion, spoilers, etc.)

Dark Helmut: How could there be a cassette of Spaceballs the Movie? We're still in the middle of making it!
Sandurz: That's true sir. But there's been a new breakthrough in home video marketing.
Dark Helmut: There has?
Sandurz: Yes. Instant cassettes. They're out in stores before the movie is finished.
Dark Helmut: Nahh.
Video Operator: Here it is, Sir. Spaceballs!

Yogurt: Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made. Spaceballs the T-shirt. Spaceballs the lunchbox. Spaceballs the coloring book. Spaceballs... the flamethrower! Kids love it. And my favorite, Spaceballs the Doll -- me!
[Pulls string]
Doll: May the Schwartz be with you!

Tomorrow Night, Episode 5:13 Just Another Day

Series Finale.

"When the DOD threatens to shut down Eureka no one can get in or out of town as wormholes start popping up all over, threatening to rip Eureka apart unless Carter can stop them."

Let's hope they give the gang a good send-off.

:techman:

Like I said last week:

Maybe characters will get sucked into a wormhole that deposits them back in the original timeline. This time it needs to be Jack, Allison, Fargo, Holly, Jo, non-autistic Kevin, and Henry. Maybe Grace. And I'm trying to decide about Zane. Both versions of Zane have undergone great character development, so I'm not sure which one I'd keep. Probably the new one.

Main thing is, everybody should get a happy ending. They should also resolve the Beverly situation somehow, since she's been a problem since the beginning. It would also be nice to see Doctor Old Spice and have some kind of resolution to the timeline alterations, but I'm not betting on that.

Hey, where was Stark? Wasn't he in a promo before the season started talking about two time lines (giving away what we thought was his return)?

After a somewhat disappointing season, that saw Holly nearly swallow the show, the final gave us a decent ending, wrapping up the plot lines last week's actual s5 finale left us with. Fun with Taggart, Beverly and Henry, Dr Old Spice, a little too much Parrish-no time with Kevin...But overall, I liked it.
Farewell Eureka. You'll be missed.

Not too bad.

We got the happy ending (I teared up when Jo proposed. Don't look at me!).

:scream:

We got a little bit of everyone: Taggart, Andy, Bev, Zoe.

We did see Stark in the wormhole, but other than that...???

I wish the series could have had another season or two, but that was a satisfactory end. Even with a little Deus Ex Machina from Dr. Old Spice.

Too much problem of the week and not enough sappy emotionalism for me. I like sappy series finales.

Still, not bad, and leaves room for Eureka TV movies.

It might have used more sap, but there was some there. Jo getting engaged. Allison pregnant, Henry and Grace reunited, Fargo and Holly running off together.

It was there.

After watching the end, I pulled out the first episode to show Jack & Zoey see themselves driving out of town to my wife and ended up watching the whole thing.

(Too bad Old Spice couldn't get the accent back)

Yeah, I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed...

The driving in/out thing was brilliant.

I haven't had a chance to watch yet, but it sounds like I may have gotten what I was hoping for. :D

I loved the number of shots they took at the network in this finale. It was over the top, but I wonder if a single network executive will ever figure out they were the ones being talked about? Probably not. They're mostly idiots.

I loved the flashback sequence, and it was nice to see so many familiar faces again to help close it down.

I'm going to miss this show! I'm sentimental but I like series finales where the characters keep on doing what they're doing. I hate when it's a "everyone says goodbye" thing. Makes me glad to know that Eureka is still going on even though the show isn't. I was glad to see Jack and Zoey see themselves as I've been wondering when they were going to address that from the pilot. I loved Jack's, "I'll deal with that tomorrow" line. Since WH13 and Alphas are in the same universe, I hope we'll see some Eureka folks show up on those. Even if it means I have to watch Alphas and somehow keep my eyes open for an hour.
When Fargo said the town had been sold, I hoped it meant that the show had been sold to another network but I knew that would be too good to be true.

Also nice to know you can be cleared of espionage and treason with a phone call. I'll have to remember that if it ever comes up in real life. :cardie:
