I feel like we're watching "Young Spock", relative to Vulcan Age terms.
He's at the age where "Hi-Jinks" are bound to ensue.

By the time we see TOS Spock, he's kind of the "Grown Adult" spock, where he's a bit more mature.

Yep. But he the foundation was laid in TOS. He was smiling in The Cage. They did not just pull from left field. Ditto the Chapel stuff.

I think both Peck and Quinto have done a fine job. Kelvin Spock (having met his older, Prime self) and SNW Spock should be a bit different. Itcwould be awfully boring otherwise. Ditto Uhura & Scotty & Kirk.
